Suggestion: If you must nerf the Maize Balm
And now I’ll just sit back and wait until I see that the cool kids have spraypainted NARC on my locker… :-(
It’s getting people to scour the open world for ambients.
Huge pay off or not that’s awesome.
Zarin Mistcloak(THF) Valkyrie Mistblade(WAR) Kossori Mistwalker(REV) Durendal Mistward(GRD)
I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
wait what you can spawn mad king doors with this?
can you get into the mad king realm with them?
It turns ambients ino candy corn elementals who can drop trick or treat bags.
If it turns out that there are places where you can slightly profit doing this, great. The time involved, slow respawn of ambieants and high cost to craft the potion limit the potential.
Huh… I read the item description and immediately sold/deleted those balm things as they sounded like useless clutter (like all the other costumes/box of fun/etc. junk).
If they can be used to generate loot, I may have to give them a try now.
1) there are plenty of places to find ambients in ‘concentrated’ areas,
however
2) the cost involved in making the potion may deter people from trying to ‘cash in’ on the ToT market. Sure folks will try it out, but I see little long term damage as the fad wears off in a few weeks.

Once not everyone is selling theirs cheaply, then it’ll change, the cost to make is high, its’ that people are getting them as drops and selling cheap. It’s really simply taking advantage of other players ignorance more than anything.

If it’s working as intended, I suppose that’s fine. But history shows that sometimes things that create videos like “how to get tons of gold in five minutes” are patched up. And I’m just hoping to preemptively offer a suggestion for how it could be patched without losing the fun aspect.

If they nerf it the recipe will NEVER be used, it’s pretty expensive to make. The only benefit currently is because people are randomly getting them from their trick or treat bags (200 got me 3 the other day so it’s not super common) and many people are ignorantly selling it for about the same price as one trick or treat bag when they could be getting up to about 9X that if they used it themselves optimally. The prices on the balm need to skyrocket to match the crafting costs, but for now people can really take advantage of many people’s ignorance.
The maize balm is not an exploitable loop.
The recipe is expensive, the number of ambients it can change are limited, and every mob does not drop loot.
The people who got the item cheaply and used it first “exploited” the ignorance of people who thought it was worthless, but he item is fine. People bought up an item for less than 1 silver, that probably ought to have been valued at 12 silver.
When the market value of the item adjusts to the item’s true value, this will be obvious to everyone.
