I’m noticing a trend in how open world games are bring in cars to the mix, and although we are in technically a fantasy magic world, there is premise in steampunk like Fairy Tales alternate world Edolas where magic would be in item form. That’s been my logic to engineer magic in this game anyways.

Think about it. GTA V, WatchDogs, Fallout New Vagas, and the upcoming Arhkam Knight etc. Wouldn’t it be great to transverse new terrain or cities (inside Orr Proper) or fight dragon minions on the go? Anet could introduce it after the next dragon death, or the current one like Companies have After WWII, to add a whole new aspect to the game.

Without it being unfair they could limit it to certain areas like the Flat deserts or ancient or alien cities as I’ve mentioned.

I’d love to hear the community and or course developer thoughts on this.

This is even worse than the idea of traditional mounts.

Can’t tell if serious.

Well if you’re going to ask for vehicles then I request – no, I demand we include planes and bombers as well.

eh, good in theory, bad in practice

vehicles only make sense if we get a new activity somewhere in charr areas, where we can race their cool tanks

…but only there

Server: Kaineng | Guild: Blackflame Legion [BFL]
Perhaps the only RP-oriented guild on the server
Main Character: Farathnor (sylvari ranger) 1 of 22

Have you stalked me in the CO Forums and seen how much i hate this vehicle crap, or whats the reason of this post ?

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

hrmm hrmm … someone hasn’t played out their story line. You get to control a charr built vehicle in one of the story missions late in the game. The firing of the cannon on it was annoying for me at the time I did it.

So yes there are vehicles in the game, their use is very limited and restricted to storyline, otherwise there would need to be 10x more undead

To add my own 2 copper into this:

Vehicles/mounts (because not all races would use organic mounts) come in two flavors:
1. Is just a faster way of getting around and looking cool.
You’re immediately dismounted for combat or when you end up in water, they also cannot jump.
They would replace your utility skill bar with things to help you travel (like a stealth and a dash to escape/avoid potential aggro).
Make a few different models (like five racial, one for each order, and then a pact one) and toss them into the gemstore for maybe 800 to 1600 gems and voila! more dosh for Anet.

2. Environmental weapons like the Golem Suit used in special heart or dynamic events.
These WOULD replace your skill bar and let you move faster, but you’d only have them for a limited time before you dismount, or cannot use them outside of a certain area. You also still cannot jump or go into water with them.
Imagine an event where the Seraph broke out their cavalry and asked the played to help raid the centaurs, and you’d get the gist of it.

You might also be able to fit the environmental version into WvW.

That’s my thoughts, might need a lot of adjustment though.
