I think this is a great idea! Would love to use it on Asura boots.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Actually I just realized, this dye is already in the game. But its so expensive that only the royalty can afford it. I mean we all know that a certain Queen isn’t really barefoot. She just uses this dye.

I don’t think this would work.

For a dye region to become invisible, the dye region would have to be separated from the other parts of the armour so that one area will disappear whilst others remain visible. Put it this way using an example of a chest piece with three dye regions, the chest area, details and the arm area. If you were to dye the chest dye region invisible, whilst keeping the the details and arm area say, abyss, then the arms and details would be floating. This would also apply for non-dyeable regions.

I’m also pretty sure that any skin texture that is covered up by armour gets removed to reduce possible clipping issues, so any pieces that you dye invisible would mean that the skin covered by it would be invisible. In other words, your body gets replaced by your armour. This is proven by the lich costume, which replaces male legs entirely, but also if you zoom in through a character, you don’t see their body, just the inside of their armour.

This means that if you wore something that covered you completely and all areas of the armour were dye-able, you could become invisible.

To solve this they would have to put a lot of work in to have it so armours can show only parts of themselves whilst retaining skin/body texture underneath.

It would be much more likely that they implement check boxes on the chest, legs and foot armour boxes so you can check/uncheck to show/hide these armour pieces, much like what’s already in place with gloves, shoulders and head armour. This suggestion comes up time and time again and as far as I’m aware, a-net haven’t really responded.

What a wonderful idea! Yes, that WOULD be easier… they should do that!
