Ok so we all know just how irritating obtaining a precursor can be and how everyone keeps asking for new legendaries . My suggestion is Legendary Cores !!!! < trumpets> .
Instead of a precursors you craft a core , maybe using some of that godkitten space-wasting bloodstone dust or something , that is used in the legendary recipies .
Now comes the really “gud” part – according to what weapon components you throw in you get a weapon from an already existing legendary weapon theme i.e. : axe blade + small hilt + gift of sunrise + t6 mat gifts + sunrise core ( suck it zommoros! ) = sunrise axe .
That’s just one example . I personally would really would like to see a Dreamer Hammer or Predator Sword.

Any thoughts?

The idea of having legendary themes would be kind of cool, but that would require ALOT of new weapon skins around 12 per legendary theme, compaired adding new legendaries which would probably be 1 skin per weapon type… I have to admit though, I would love the idea of a minstrel themed staff, or bifrost themed sword.

Wouldn’t something like this “instead of a precursor” kill the precursor market? Unless crafting them is particularly difficult and expensive.

This would also require a new mystic forge layout, you can’t put 5 things in at once.

The layout wouldn’t be a a problem – the weapon gift could be a component of the core .
And cores would require a large time/money investment and would be trade-able like the legendaries themselves . This was just my take on how to remove the mystic forge gambling from legendary crafting.
Also , yes 12 per legendary seems like a lot of work , but the most of the textures and models are already there . A designer could make a twilight axe just by cutting out an axe shape out of Twilight and sticking it on a pretty handle.
But this is just pure speculation and day-dreaming . It’s not like that filthy precursor rng will ever dissapear.

How about we just start giving away legendaries? All you have to do to get a precursor is buy it off the trading post. Yes, it’s expensive, but that’s because they’re supposed to be rare. And making it out of bloodstone? Yeah, just start giving them away.
