[Suggestion] Let alts live in the guild hall
I actually think this is a really neat idea. +1.
You forgot the best part -for a compnay- All the extra char slots ppl might buy
then what you do is show the level and weapons of alts ppl will want high level/mastery and pretty weapon to show off
It’s all a bout the pitch
Maybe not Alts but rather the character that offline guild members were playing with last time they were logged in. How often does a mid to large guild have every single member online at the exact same time anyway.
As much as I love the idea, it’s not very practical.
For example, my guild has 497 members, and if on average everyone has 3-4 alts (I personally have 7), it would mean thousands of npcs walking around in the guild Hall. As big as it is, I doubt it can hold that many npcs.
However, seeing other offline guildmates’s characters chilling in the guild Hall may be cool. Maybe only make guildmates in your friend’s list appear in order to avoid oversaturaton of npcs.
Or have a few npcs that appear as your alt, but only to you. Means we can have 7-9 npcs with the appearence of YOUR alt, bit is largely client sided. That probably would be perfect.

I’d say put a cap on it. Say Anet is happy with ~100 NPCs roaming around. An instance of the Guild Hall randomly selects appearances from guild member characters totaling up to 100, perhaps with a daily reset.
So there would be no guarantee that you’d see the alt you wanted to see, but it would allow for the system to work even with bigger guilds without having an excessive number of NPCs walking around.
+1 to this, this would be an awesome Idea
I like the idea, but I’d be rather worried what some of you pervs would be doing to my alts while I’m not there.
On the other hand, maybe I’d be better off not knowing.

That would be awesome.

Iwould limit it to just 1 alt per account: The “least used” character of every player on the guild. It would be really funny.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

Sure, there need to be some limits. Maybe only one alt per account, only accounts that have logged in in the last 2 weeks. There should be some kind of random rotation, or a rotation that following some rules. I guess Anet can figure out the details and could make this an awesome feature.

Very Cool Idea! +1
Never thought about that, it’s actually a super cool idea! I did think that a Guild Hall is a bit too vast and needs to be filled, and I don’t think decorations are enough
I like this idea. Just cap the npcs and randomly select them whenever an instance is generated from among offline characters representing the guild. Seeing as representing a guild tag is stored on a per character basis, you could even control which of your alts was displayed.

Great idea! +1 from me
I think this is better off for Personal housing instead of Guild halls.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
I like the idea too, but I can see a problem with it for guilds who have 400+ members… most people have 4-10 alts on average and at the least thats 1600-4000 NPC’s in that small map… might get a bit overcrowded. Then you have to come up wit ha system that randomly grabs an npc and paths it to the map terrain, x2 cuz there is 2 diff guild halls. But I love the idea of populating it with NPC’s to some extent.
Hmm it would be a ton of work programming-wise I think.
I think customizable, pathing NPCs would be cool though. Based on the total makeover kit options and armor that could be banked in a Guild wardrobe for NPCs. You could then base them on one of your alts that walk the guild hall. Limited per map sizings.
Would be awesome. +1 alt a person walking around would be highlarious
They also should be yellow mobs. :P

Haha!
Anyway I like this idea! It’s a good one, certainly will make the guildhall feel more alive.
