Suggestion: Let our Characters sing Songs!
This could be very very cool, but also very very costly since AI singing is licensed already and building the core foundation for it from the ground up would be beyond what Anet would see as it in value.
But maybe Anet could build scripts for whats out there already, then let players choose to use the addon

crazy goodness… people nowadays lert really absolutely everything instantly license … shrugs
oh my, didn#t even know that somethign like “virtual singing programs/scripts” online exist already with that you could mabe simulate kind of a singing voice for a virtual character lol
But then when I think, what we can do already by today all with out technology in the music business with synthesizes and what not all, I guess its just a matter of tiem until we land at the point, where we can simulate and produce voices just like music where we players just need to input for that script or however it will work the “lyrics” so that the simulator knows how to form out of it somethign, that actually sounds like speech that is sung if you tell the simulator also at which speed, rhythm and so on it should sing…
I mean, we even have animals that can simply simulate voices they hear and repeat them immediately very similar sounding (thinks on parrots)
But personally id just also be happy to have the super simplistic solution of being able to replay through the game just music fils of accapella sung songs so that it gives us the illusion as if our characters would sing that song at the moment, maybe together with some kind of nice singing emotes <3 that would be os nice ^^
I like this idea. The only problem I see with it is how to a) have others hear what you’re singing and b) avoid some really horrendous song choices. I mean, every music has someone who likes it, but I’d be miffed if someone started howling out heavy metal lyrics in my ear while I was banking. So ANet would have to give a prepared list of songs, I guess, that fit into the world (the Chicken song and Bash the Dragon come to mind as examples).
(A) is the bigger issue, though. All the sound files in the game are loaded into the client. If you want someone else to hear your character singing, not just you, then whatever song you pick has to get shoved into their copy of the game. I imagine hackers could drop in malware that way, or at the very least everyone’s disk space would get hogged by all the other players tossing songs at them.

hmm, the technology for it is basically already there <3 Thats nice to see..
Still only the question about technical limitations and how far it would be even possible to add something liek this to GW2 in a way that it works with the game engine maybe as some kind of integrated singing emote the moment we start singing ^^
@ Donari.
I think a feature like this should automatically come with a kind of activation and deactivation mechanic, stat actually starts with always all other voice incomes from other players being MUTED, so that we will hear actually only the voice sources of acturally other players, which we DO WANT TO hear at the moment while standing in their near.
Like all characters having some kind of “Mouth Icon” over their heads that we can click on from players, that have their Singing Feature active and are actually singing right now maybe perhaps and when you shut up that mouth by clicking on it, then you wont hear that other persons song.. if you click on it again you activate that persons sing channel so that you will hear whatever that person is singing right now …
The singign of a player is basically in my opinion nothign else but just a voice signal layer, that iare data files which a player can give either live to the servers, making it work like Teamspeak, where also other peoples hear live instantly whatever we say…
Or which are data files that are uploaded into the game servers temporarely for the moment we want to use them by using the game to take access to our PCs to start from the game a music file that is saved on our pc, so that we can make this way hear other players that song, which have at that moment we play it our personal sing chat (Mouth Icon) activated.
If you dont have it activated, you hear naturally nothing…
this kind of singing is some kind of player interactivity, that I’d like to see much more in MMORPGs as that are features, tgat are helpful to connect the community, the players with each other simply through music and its actualyl a way how we can give our characters a voice, one that is not pregiven by voice actors, but one that enables us maybe also to speak self as our characters (at least while playing outside of story content,k but maybe it could be even integrated into story content to give us at certain moments the chance to say somethign originaly self to the npcs, how funny ands awesome would that be???, just spinning further the crazy idea of interactivity ^^
Players becoming the voice actors of their own characters through some kind of vocaloid technology .. man how cool that woudl be ^^xD)
One can dream <3 But for now I’d be completely fine and happy if I could just bring my character somehow ingame to sing what I want to hear it singing ^^
