It appears to me, we have all the necessary elements in place to do this.

1. Ithas Longbow Skin
2.Chaos affect (from Chaos Weapons skin)
3. Lightning Effect (from Lightning Hammer/Mjolnir)

I loved my Stormbow from GW1. I, as I am sure many, hoped it would be brought over to GW2 via the HoM in some way, and it paritally has been.

Perhaps this can spark internal discussion on how we might be able to do this. Perhaps via special items like:

Essence of Chaos(Account Bound on Acquire) – Double Click to Consume. Gives a bow with the Ithas Longbow Skin applied the white glow similar to a Chaos Bow. (This bow can no longer be equipped until Essence of Lightning has also been added. )

Essence of Lightning(Account Bound on Acquire) – Double Click to Consume. Gives a bow with the Ithas Longbow Skin applied the Lightning Effect.(Prerequisite: Essence of Chaos must already be applied to this bow.) This unlocks the Stormbow Skin in your Wardrobe.)

Obviously this could be done many ways, making them dungeon items(ex.: Essence of Chaos – 750 Tears of Ascalon PLUS all AC Paths completed. The Chaos Essence relates to the Ghosts and such.), An achievement reward, etc.

I wouldn’t make it a “freebie”, but requiring a bit of work…but I wouldn’t make it on the scale of a legendary or ascended weapon, as this really would just be creating a new skin. It also is a followup reward for those long time GWs players.

I am not opposed to making this available to everyone, but it loses some of the “special” feel, and I’m not sure what other LB Skin to suggest it be done with…to make it be ‘different but similar’ to the one from the HoM. Maybe use basic LB skin…call it a Lightning Bow? I dunno…

Its simple, and many will say there are more important things to be done…but this would just be cool.

Again, its just a Suggestion.

I want to because you said I couldn’t

+1.

would be nice to have some form of scavenger hunt for some of the super pretty gw1 skins like the storm bow.

I don’t think it would lose its specialness if done right. I rarely see Mjolnir so something akin to making that would work for this

Maybe…but its taking me FOREVER to get a Mjolnir made…its just so cost prohibitive to players like me who only play 2-3 times a week. Keeping it even simpler than Mjolnir would be my preference…but hey…if it gets poeple at ANET talking about how to do, I’m open to discussing it in a CDI or something…

You may want to rethink this, unless you want only people that have completed HoM requirements to have access to the skin. Ithas Longbow is an HoM exclusive.

Yeah…I allowed for that in my OP…but maybe it got lost in how I stated it, so to clarify…thinking you could make it 2 ways…if you have the HoM skin you get the true “Stormbow” from GW1, and use an alternate base bow skin(i’ll let Anet figure that one out, if it were up to me, I would use the basic Longbow Skin because it has nice clean lines) for those that do not have access to the HoM skin and call it the “Lightning Bow”. Still a cooly special Bow Skin…and available to both old(as a way to modify an existing HoM reward) and new players alike.

Make it a forge recipe like mjolnir but not require 350 charged lodes.

Follow the darkness into the depths, it’s more fun than the light can provide.
