[Suggestion] "Master of the Universe"
Yeah, 15k ap isn’t enough, maybe 1 million? If you want a long term goal, be a yapslapper.
Hardcore characters would be a mess in WwW, but if you want to set objectives for yourself, do it.
- This does not sound even a little bit fun. It sounds tedious and annoying. 500 crafting skill, on a character where everything is soulbound? What a waste. Why bother?
- It is not even challenging; it’s just time-consuming and grindy. Usually “hardcore mode” implies some higher level of difficulty, tougher enemies, or even perma-death. You have nothing like that at all — instead, you basically just took the regular game and cut out features to make it more annoying.
- What if a precursor or ascended item drops for this so-called “hardcore” character? Enjoy salvaging it.
- Your rewards for this monotonous chore are way too high. But regardless, I don’t see why there should be any reward for doing such a thing. This is nothing to be proud of, and asking players to do this a poor excuse for game design. How would it be a good thing, for people to play GW2 this way?

It would be a way out of the worst flaw the gameworld have ever seen. Trading Post.
Guild Wars 2 ist the best game. I love it really. But when I think about the Trading Post I could uninstall the game immediately.
Then don’t use it?
I can’t see how giving 300% magic find and 15k ap to someone ( so, free gold, better loots, etc) will do anything to the trading post.
It’s not that easy. You are confronted with it every time you play.
Diablo 3 managed it successfully to get rid of this ****, but it’s different here. There is no way back.
The suggestion is an acceptable, connectable solution which doesn’t hurt anyone. (especially not the TP-flippers)The rewards I suggested doesn’t have to be exactly like that, the world itself could be a bit more difficult and the droprate could need a change, too. I imagine it a bit more like Dark Souls 2.
But I guess I am a dreamer
Diablo III was heavily marked by tp use. Anyway, Do you even realize what you’re saying? 15k ap? 300% magic find? Killing 100K people in WwW give you like 20 ap. Your suggestion is far over the top, you probably have no experience with game balancing at all, wich is fine, but you also lack logic. 15k ap is more than what i got in 3K hours of intense playing. Having those silly loots for a grind quest is just a big no.
Okay, I think I see what the real point of this thread was. You are mad that legendaries can be bought and sold on the trading post. And I think I can agree with that much; it sort of cheapens the prestige of having one, when it’s something you could just pay for, rather than earn.
But, the default way to “earn” a legendary is pretty sad as it is. All you have to do is farm, farm, farm, farm, farm, get lucky with a precursor drop or buy it, and put up with crazy amounts of RNG. There’s not a lot involved in getting a legendary that is impressive or challenging, and I think GW2 would be better off without them.
Trading post is your pet peeve. Legendary weapons are my pet peeve. But I don’t think choosing to avoid them should be considered “hardcore” and come with an exclusive title, 300% Magic Find, 15k AP, etc.

And then the 300% magic find apply to the character that cannot trade anything? Huh.
The AP is ok though, appropriate because that character will have his own count, right?
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

1. Rewards soulbound
2. 10k or 15k ap would be fine, because you have to play the whole game and get a legendary by your own. I played since release and didn’t get a pre. In this scenario you can not buy anything. It would take years to get all materials alone.

It’s not just the legendary. I want to play this beautiful game like a real MMORPG and not think about gold the whole time. It’s all about gold, don’t you think?
No, it would take luck. Guys, let’s give 15k ap to that one dude that got 2 precursors drop on his “hardcore” ( lol, it would be open world farming, there’s nothing hardcore in frostgorge and orr farming) char! You don’t realize how substantial 15k ap is. Titles like champion shadow/magus/genius takes a bit of time and are more skill based than this one, and they don’t give near that amout. The reward could be 100 ap max, and even then that’s just grinding for ap. 300% magic find is so high i don’t even know how you can keep a straight face saying it. If you have a problem with tp, just make a post about how you don’t like the tp.

No. Because it would be no constructive solution/suggestion. And like I said, in this game is no way back.
I am Adam, prince of Eternia…
Not sure that rewards as mentioned in the OP are appropriately gated behind getting a lucky drop (precursor).
I made my legendaries without using the trading post at all, its not as tedious as someone might think
