This is kind of an odd suggestion, but I ’d sitll love it implemented.
As some of you may know, there’s customized sountrack options for gw2, which is really awesome, but somewhat lacking.
In case you didn’t know and want to do it, here’s the wiki link:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Customized_soundtrack
A few things I want to mention about the customized soundtracks:
- Combat music overrides nearly all types of combat music, not just the basic ones. It overrides the HoT music, which is a shame since it’s so great imo. it also overrides all world boss musics, as well as some instanced boss musics.
- Ambient music does the same to HoT ambient music, so making a playlist for ambient or combat pretty much nullifies the unique and different soundtracks of HoT.
- I think it would be awesome if we could make separate playlists for PvP and Wvw, as opposed to making a single playlist that applies to ALL the modes.
Here’s my suggestion:
Give us more categories for customized music, we currently have the following:
- Ambient
- Battle
- BossBattle(Which I’m not sure to what bosses it applies)
- City(Barely ever encounter this, I think only the black citadel has this?)
- Defeated
- MainMenu
- Nighttime(Also barely ever encounter this)
- Underwater
My idea is as follows, which separates certain musics from others:
- HoTBattle
- HoTAmbient
- WorldBoss
- PvPBattle
- WvWAmbient
- WvWBattle
- Separate the meta event musics (such as Tarir and the mouth of modremoth battles) from the basic combat musics as well, so that these can be preserved.
I know this is a pretty uninportant suggestion, but I still think this would allow a ton of players immerse themselves in different game modes in the way that they personally please![](/include/images/smilies/smile.png)
Let me know what you guys think!
