[Suggestion] Mouse Pointer
I personally play Guild Wars 2 on 50 inch TV, and most of the time I find myself troubled by the fact I cant see pointer when there is somekind of action.
Trust me, if you were playing Guild Wars 2 on a smartphone you would lose track of your thumbs. This isn’t the only issue that makes the prevalent zerg-style content insane to even try to play. It’s not even the only graphics issue.
I’m constantly losing my pointer in the sharknado of particle affects. I really wish I could make it extreme neon yellow or something like that to make it easily visibile no matter what is going on the screen.
You can try this:
In MS-Windows goto —→Control Panel-→Mouse—>Pointer Options—>Visibility
Check “show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key”
Not ideal but better than nothing if you’re having issues
@root Thanks for suggestion, but I already tried this. It doesn’t work with GW2
I’d like to suggest option to change mouse pointer size, colour, or at least changing it to system pointer.
THIS. +1 +1 +1
I lose track of that small, gold mouse cursor ALL the time and it’s very frustrating.
The longer the fight, the more flashy effects filling up the screen, and the more bodies in the mix, the more times I lose track of it. It even happens at times in simple, small scale fights.
Make it glow, put a darker shadow behind it… SOMETHING. And let us adjust the settings, please.
Would be much appreciated. Thanks for bringing this up, OP.

Strange, I actually tried it before suggesting it and it was working fine on my end. shrug
Windows 7
Playing in windowed mode
I used to lose the pointer during battles all the time. I haven’t since I increased it’s size. I highly recommend doing that:
On your mac, go to system preferences. depending on your version, it will either be under ‘Keyboard & Mouse’ or ‘Universal Access / Mouse’. Find the bar labeled ‘Cursor Size’ and slide it to the right. I went for about 2x normal size; I think 4x is the most. This will affect the cursor size in GW2, and for everything else on your computer, so it’s not a perfect solution, but a larger cursor is really easy to get used to.

It might depend on playing in windowed mode. There are some windows settings which are disabled by full screen programs.
If I remember correctly there is also an option somewhere to make your default pointer over-write program specific ones. I’ll have a look when I’m at home (my work computer locks me out of anything that could potentially change any settings of any kind).

Can also confirm pointer stealths on me when there is a ton of action. I’m furiously moving my mouse from side to side looking for the slightest hint of movement.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Same. It’s not that it’s simply hard to see (though there is that, too; beige/sand colored pointer against beige/sand colored ground = not good); it actually disappears at times.
