Hi, since I’m leveling some new characters lately I got an idea of how to make leveling more comfortable.

How about an account bound special tier of eq that levels up with character?

I guess this idea is simple enough to understand however I’ll elaborate a little. The quipment would be of course available through crafting. Once crafted, armor can be given to one of your alts (no level restriction) and that armor or weapon adjusts its statistics to the character wearing it.

Since we already have legendary tier with changable stats I guess this option shouldn’t be given to this level-adjusting tier.

So… any thoughts?

I could see being able to make a rare grade piece of armor or weapon with that ability but not until you’ve reached 500 in the respected craft and it should require an ascended ingredient or two and be made account bound.

That is how “heirloom” items work in World of Warcraft.

I wouldn’t be opposed to having something similar in GW2, when you’re leveling your 3rd or 4th alt you don’t really care about the armor and weapons you’re using before max level anyways.

just remove level restriction on ascended armor and do the thing with stats adjusting to the level. easy as that.

Well we already have some flexible armours, so it’s partially kind of in the game. But I do like your idea a lot. I’m a bit tired of constantly changing gear(which can get a bit pricey) on some of my low level characters. That’s why I only buy/craft armour at levels: 35 and 80.

Not having to change equipment while levelling could potentially eat into profits off of wardrobe charge sales because you could just wear the same thing and keep your look from 1 to 80 instead of having to continually use charges to keep your look.

What would they get out of this that would offset that potential loss in sales?

We could just remove lv requirements on ascended gear, since we already have lv scaling in lower areas, and they have calculated that ascended gear downscaled is almost like an exo, about 5% difference.
The disadvantage would be that we don’t have the full stats of a lv80 yet, so ascended plus downscaling would be a huge help without breaking things for alts.

there is that Ineffable gear you can craft. It’s so expensive I dont’ think any sane mind would craft it though.

For monster in the 1-50 zone, I pretty much 2-3 shot them wearing green dps gear though. So I never found them a problem.

There’s no need for ascended gear until you’re level 80 so that in my opinion isn’t a good direction to go in. It would ruin the armor quality of all those who’ve sat and crafted the gear already made for only one person and making all ascended gear that way certainty can’t be a viable option.
I think, if it’s implemented it should be rare grade because it it’s still the top of the line gear you can get stat-wise until you’re level 62 when exotic gear becomes available.
