Since Anet has trouble putting out content that keeps people busy for a long time I thought about a list of achievements that could keep more people playing and motivated during content draughts.
A lot of these achievements are deliberately chosen to be hard or very time consuming to have a lot of tasks to choose from during content draughts, so keep that in mind before criticizing. But on many you can make progress while playing as normal.
I will post more suggestions over time as I can think of it; also feel free to make your own suggestions.

Collections:

Name: Forsaken Thicket Master
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all skins, miniatures and other unlockables (such as account binding an ghostly infusion) of the 3 Forsaken Thicket raid wings.
Reward: Title “Master of the Forsaken Thicket”, 100 AP, red recolor of ghostly infusion

Name: Advanced Exotic Hunter
Prerequisites: “Exotic Hunter” completed
Goal: Collect all the random exotic skins you can find in Heart of Thorns (http://dulfy.net/2015/11/08/gw2-hot-weapons-armor-and-backpieces-guide/#Miscellaneous_Weapons)
Reward: Title “Advanced Exotic Hunter”, 20 AP, 2nd buy on karmic converter per day

Name: Gold Fractal Master
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all Golden fractal weapon skins
Reward: 25 AP, tyria mastery point, Gift of Gold Knowledge (name can be changed ofc)
Gift of Gold Knowledge to turn Ad Infinitum golden, name of upgraded Ad Infinitum changes into “Per Aspera ad Astra”, fitting the theme of fractals and the backpack perfectly
Suggested recipe: Ad Infinitum + Gift of gold knowledge + 250 Essences of Time + 5 Dark Energy
Acquiring the upgraded legendary backpack should auto unlock a golden fractactal capacitor skin

Name: Enthusiasts of Legends
Prerequisites: Finished the 60 vanilla precursor weapon collections
Goal: Unlock all 21 legendary weapon skins of the vanilla game
Reward: 500 AP, Title: “Seeker of Legends”

In addition each legendary skin should have its own achievement worth 10 AP each with a title:

Examples:

Astralaria —> Title: The Cosmologist
Sunrise --> Title: Bringer of Sunshine
Twilight —> Title: Bringer of Darkness
Eternity --> Title: Master of Time and Space
Ad Infinitum —> Title: Doctor of fractal sciences
Proposed “Per aspera ad astra” --> Title: Professor of fractal sciences
The Juggernaut —> Shiny Warrior
For the upcoming envoy armor (25 AP per set):
1 set --> The Envoy
2 sets —> Renowned Envoy
2 sets --> Legendary Envoy

Name: Ascended Weapon Enthusiast
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 133 regular ascended weapon skins.
Reward: 100 AP, Title: “Exalted Artisan”, Ascended Weapon Chest, Tyria Mastery Point

Name: Multicultural proficiency
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all cultural weapons skins (Charr (t1,2,3), Norn(t1,2,3), Sylvari(t1,2,3), Human(t1,2,3), Norn(t1,2,3), Pirate, Ebon Vanguard, Lion guard, Modniir) and all cultural armor skins (all 3 armor weights and all tiers)
Reward: 100 AP, Title “Globetrotter”, Tyria Mastery Point

Name: Zenith Reacher
Prerequisites: 28k AP
Goal: Collect all 19 Zenith weapon skins
Reward: 100 AP, Title “I reached my Zenith”, Tyria Mastery Point

Name: Mystic collector
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 19 Mystic weapon skins
Reward: 20 AP, Title “Friend of Zommoros”

Name: Primordus weapon collector
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 19 Primordus weapon skins.
Reward: 20 AP, Title “Seeker of Primordus’ power”

Name: Pact Hero
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 19 Pact weapon skins
Reward: 10 AP, Title “Hero of the Pact”

Name: Regional Weapon skin collector
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all Tribal, Legionnaire, Etched, Ceremonial and Orrian weapon skins.
Reward: 10 AP

Name: Quaggan Lover
Prerequisites: Speak to a specific quaggan in Lion Arch
Goal: Collect all 19 pearl weapon skins
Reward: 10 AP

Name: Guild Outfitter
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect a Guild Defender, all 3 guild backpacks, all 18 pieces of ornate guild armor, all 19 guild weapon skins, all 16 tenebrous weapon skins and all 16 shimmering weapon skins.
Reward: 75 AP, Title “Guild Outfitter”

Name: Glorious Armor beautifier
Prerequisites: rank 80 in pvp and reached legendary division in at least one season
Goal: Collect all 18 pieces of glorious armor
Reward: 10 AP, Unlock Glorious Hero armor track

Name: Glorious Hero Armor collector
Prerequisites: collected at least 1 part of glorious hero armor
Goal: Collect all 18 pieces of glorious hero armor
Reward: 25AP, Title “Glorious Hero”

Name: Hero weapon beautifier
Prerequisites: Rank 1500 in WvW
Goal: Collect all 19 Hero weapon skins
Reward: 10 AP, unlock Mistforged Hero weapon reward track

Name: Mistforged Hero weapon skin collector
Prerequisites: Completed “Hero weapon beautifier” achievement, collected at least 1 mistforged hero weapon skin
Goal: Collect all 19 mistforged hero weapon skins
Reward: 25 AP, Title “Mistforged Hero”

Name: Triumphant Armor beautifier
Prerequisites: Rank 2000 in WvW, completed Mistforged Hero weapon collection
Goal: Collect all 18 pieces of Triumphant armor
Reward: 10 AP, unlock Triumphant Hero Armor reward track

Name: Triumphant Hero’s armor collector
Prerequisites: collected at least 1 part of Triumphant Hero’s Armor
Goal: Collect all 18 pieces of Triumphant Hero’s armor

Name: Legacy Armor Hunter
Prerequisites: None

Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 403 dyes available from unidentified dyes

Prerequisites: finished “Fashion Forward” achievement
Goal: Have 2000 skins unlocked in your wardrobe
Reward: 25 AP, Title “Fashion Icon”

Name: Fashion enthusiast
Prerequisites: finished “Fashion icon” achievement
Goal: Have 3000 skins unlocked in your wardrobe
Reward: 50 AP, Title “Fashion enthusiast”

Name: Fashion star
Prerequisites: finished “Fashion enthusiast” achievement
Goal: Have 4000 skins unlocked in your wardrobe

Name: Tequatl tried to hit me, but failed
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Spend at least 90% of a Tequatl event in his melee range without taking any damage.
Reward: 50 AP, Title “Masterful Dodger”, Tyria Mastery Point

Name: Master of [insert Jumping puzzle]
Prerequisites: Finished the JP achievement
Goal: Finish the JP [insert Jumping puzzle] in less than x time. Use of any teleport, blink or leap skills disqualifies you and you have to start over for another try. [The time limit should be short, maximum 30s more than you need for a perfect run]
Reward: 10 AP, Title “Master of [insert JP name]”

Name: Master of Giganticus Lupicus
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Solo Giganticus Lupicus in any Arah path. If someone else enters the instance you are disqualified and have to start over.
Reward: 25 AP, Title “Master of Giganticus Lupicus”, Tyria mastery point

Name: Master of Mai Trin
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Solo Mai Trin on fractal difficulty level 100. If someone else enters the instance you are disqualified and have to start over.

Goal: Explore the map to 100% completion on all 9 classes.

What do you mean? I mean you could add the gemstore dyes to the achievement, but it would probably make more sense to have seperate achievevements for those similar to the black lion weapon collections.

I havent counted, but less than half of it, for instance I am only lvl 2944 in WvW, so not even 30% there to diamond legend.
I also never managed to solo lupicus or mai trin. And I also never beat any of the raid bosses with less than 10 people since our guild only raids with full groups.
I think the suggested list would keep me busy for another 3000 hours at least.

too many wvw tracks and pvp tracks if that came to be. and waaaay to many collections. the solo mai trin and that arah guy would be a nice achivement tho. also the raid achivement, but i hope they wont add too many more collections and grind achievements.

It must be gratifying to have accomplished so much is so little time.

You can put your sarcasm somewhere else. Time spend is gone no matter how you spent it.
I am doubtful I would be a happier person if I would spent the time on for example on a better career instead of gaming for example, so for me it is time well spent.

I think adventures are kind of unrewarding at the moment. With only 1AP reward there is no real motivation to achieve gold in any difficult one of them. So there should be an achievement for getting gold in every adventure, combined with a title, something like this:

That sounds like a good suggestion to me, it is pretty sad that gold medals for adventures only give 1 AP each, although some of them need quite a few hours of practice to get gold.

“I want more AP and that fast, so that I can easily stay longer in the top x ranking, because i’ve done like already 50% of what Ive listed up here and want to get AP for these things and more tittles for my collection so that I can boast more about how many titles I have earned already in the game”

No, just no…

More achievements yes, but there are alot of better things that should get achievements or the existign achievements shoudl get expanded, so that they provide over a logner time more AP, but nothign of these extra ordinaire things, that are partwise just pure grind shoudl get added.. just so that only a hand full of people gets instantly a huge AP boost, while 99,9% of all players gets nothing at all from this addition ….

Best example of better expand existing achievent.

Monster Kill Achievement.. maxed out already at lousy 1000 kills..
Add there more tiers, like 2500 Kills and 5000 Kills, woudl add already alot of new AP for somethign easy to do that you get automatically over tiem by just playing the game

I fail to see how your suggestions are any more engaging than my suggestions. After all they are called achievement points and not “I play the way I want” points.
But I would not be opposed to have more kill x of y achievements to go along with it.
Also the only reason some people get an instant boost from these suggestions is because Anet only added super casual achievements for a long time now you can finish on release day and then be bored again for next 2 weeks. Anet basically overslept almost every opportunity to make achievement points more meaningful.

Just some quick examples where ANet could simply expand the existing Achievements to create alot more new AP from which all players could have something to gain new Ap, and not only the absolute Elitists under the top 100 which want to get just fast new AP and more titles…..

  • Slayer Titles Expansions with more tiers (+additions of missing species that have no Slayer achievements yet, like adding Mordrem Slayer, Dog Slayer, Pinipal Slayer and so on and so on..)
  • Weapon Master Expansions with more tiers and addions once Anet finalyl adds new Weapon Types like Greataxes, Whips/Chain Sickles/Balls, Claws, Crossbows, Polearms like Lances or Halberds, Boomerangs/Throwing Stars, Flails/Morning Stars, theres still so much unused potential for more weapon types in this game for especialyl new added Elite Specializations that could add more creativity to the game and thus owudl require these kind of achievements to be added then
  • Making the Fashion Segment more complex by adding more Fashion Collections there that are based on collecting complete Armor Sets, adding more new cultural armors, especially a Tier 4 (Exotic), Tier 5 (Ascended) and Tier 6 (Legendary Set), with that the existing fashion acbhievements could get expanded with additional tiers that give more AP

*Alot more adventures should be added all over the world, especially also in all of the vanilla game maps.. alot of the Hearts should get reworked into adventures, so that you can find Adventures everywhere in Tyria and not just only in the HoT Maps and then add to Adventures Achievements that give AP and rewards for mastering them with the Gold Award so that people that want AP/rewards are incentivied to master the adventures all over Tyria

  • Same shoudl be done with “insights” .. they shoudl be added in all over tyria, in all Maps..
    reduce in the vanilla maps the amount of Waypoints, POIS and Vistas and replace the removed points with Insights. This could be also helpful to add alot more CT Mastery points this way by addign to specific harder to reach new insights also tyrian MP to them for finding them. This step would make also minimally map exploration a bit lesser grindy by having to explore lesser poi,s vistes, waypoints ect. and some maps have way too much way points and pois especially. No map should have in my honest opinion more than 5 way points
  • Like with revenge of the Capricon, all of the other PvP maps coudl receive also individual Map Achievements, that what Anet has doen with Capricorn shoudl stay permently for people to earn as PvP map achievements to give PvP a bit more variety in their achivements, than only player kill orientated achievements that are based on your class and the amount of kills you did with your character..its a nice difference to see now also map related pvp achievements and I think thats a good addtion to add also for all other PvP maps.

*They need to redesign more of the World Bosses and give them own achievements, like especially for the Claw of Jormag, the Karka Queen, the Mega Destroyer and that giant robot, while other beginner map world bosses should finaly get degraded down into “Grand Champions” and be removed fro mthe World Boss List and spawn due to this more oftenly to replace these lousy borign bosses with new and real world bosses, like a new Primordus based Dragon Champion in the Fireheart Map for example that we could eventually see getting added with LW3 due to Primordus increasing its activities as we heard and that map has seen since game release no attention!! 4 years within that Anet has done nothign with that map in regard of the Living World Concept… its about time and the game still needs a new Dragon Champion..the last one of Primordus have we killed over 250 years ago … The Great Destroyer with that everythign has begun

  • They could add more achiuevements by adding finalyl content, that should have been added already at Game release, just saying ..BAR BRAWLS, POLYMOK and more town activities, which are still missing 4 years after game release, which would be great options to add new achievements and are long overdue…

and theres a plethore of many other opotions with that anet could expand the achievements that we coudl gain…

increasign the Daily AP Cap from 15000 to say 20000 would be a very simple but super effective way to begin with

increasing the capped achievements like the Salvaging Achivement from 200 Ap to say 2000 AP would be another easy way to increase very simply the total anmount of Ap we could gain without that anythign new needs to be added at all ,by just expanding the content, thats already there

Anet basically overslept almost every opportunity to make achievement points more meaningful.

Oh please no increase to daily AP cap. They should delete daily/monthly AP and double all permanent AP to make up for it. Adding AP to dailies was in my opinion in the top 5 of mistakes Anet did.

they are being much less lenient with AP these days than they used to be so I think the ap rewarded would be less but I do always welcome the idea of more achievements to go after.

for me personally i would LOVE them to expand on the slayer achievements, i mean they sort of do add more into the game but they put them all over the place like for example the branded slayer is in the shatterer boss category

If they expand the slayer achievements they would have to use massive numbers like 10k+ kills though. Otherwise you would have them maxed again after a month (excluding giant slayer which is fine the way it is).

We can remove the Primordus weapon collection and the Gold Fractal weapon skin collection of the suggestion list now. I am just disappointed that the gold fractal weapon collection turned out to be so lame and only worth 10 AP for a lot of effort. Anet is really stingy with AP again
The Primordus weapon collection awards the destroyer scythe but only 3 AP despite the huge amount of resources involved — should be at least 10 AP also.

I also have a new suggestion for an achievement:

Name: Carnival Weapon collector
Prerequisites: None
Goal: Collect all 16 Carnival weapon skins.
Reward: 25 AP, Title: “Ringmaster”, maybe a fitting backpack skin.

The carnival weapons cost tons of gold, so it would be a good opportunity to incentivize this gold sink.

Honestly I liked almost all of these. I especially like the Legendary Weapons achievements. With the effort involved I have no idea why we don’t have chieves for those. Adding a title for each one would be nice.

Most of those sound like really good ideas for achievements. I think that the AP awarded on a lot of them is too high (500AP for collecting all of the core legendary skins, on top of the 210 AP from getting all 21 legendary skins, on top of 60*3 = 180 AP from the 60 collections would be almost 1,000 AP alone for legendary collecting). But most of them that award 20-25 AP I think are in a good spot. Good ideas here, supported

Yes, the values are high but reflect the amount of effort to get them. If Anet would start awarding fair AP to all achievements we might actually reach 39/42k AP before the 4th expansion of the game.
