I’ve purchased several of the total makeover kits to get access to new faces/hairstyles – my characters’ appearances are very important to me – and I totally understand that this is an income stream for ANet, but is there any possibility that the new faces/hair will ever be available for new character creation?

I would never delete one of my lv80 toons that has traits unlocked just to get a new face, but I’m an alt-aholic and I’d love to be able to use some of the wonderful new designs on new toons after spending the money for an extra character slot…

So, are you suggesting that ANet give them away for free or have a paid way to put them in at character creation.

Well obviously players would prefer to have them available free of charge; however, I wasn’t suggesting either way specifically, just that it happen. I think plenty of people would spare 60g in-game on their level 80s if they wanted to change the face without re-rolling to get it for free, or even purchase gems to get them, so ANet could still get money.

It might not be a bad idea to make the hair and faces (and other customization options) in to account unlocks, between whats been done to the wardrobe and outfits and dyes and miniatures and finishers, that seems to be the direction the game is headed anyway.

I’d like to see them- or a whole bunch of brand new ones- available to new characters created after HoT if you own HoT, kinda like the new faces that came with all of the GW1 expansion/standalone boxes (as long as you went with Cantha or Elona that is). Not only that, but it would put just a little bit more- though entirely cosmetic- of a boost to the feeling of a ‘new’ experience for Vets who are making a Revenant after getting the other 8 classes any number of times to 80.

This way they aren’t technically free of charge, but are a permanent addition if you have HoT.
