[Suggestion] New option for ground targeting
Actually, something that would work well, and not require that you’re moving the camera, is giving an option (ie a check/uncheck) to have gtAoEs have their center placed where the currently selected enemy is located at. Basically in the same way such aoes are placed at point zero (on your character) if you cast and target them on the UI. It’d be up to anet just how much “target leading” would be applied, though skills like the grenades might have more than the necro staff marks. This would allow us to set skills on an auto-cast that would occur while we have a target selected and would disable when the target dies, target switches (if set that way) or if we deselect the target (if set that way).
I’m going to piggy back on what I mentioned in the colorblind thread. If ArenaNet could add the option to make it so that the cursor inverted the colors of all the pixels covered by the mouse pointer, it would be very difficult to lose sight of it. I use the fast cast ground targeting, so wherever my mouse pointer is at is where my aoe goes. I completely cut out the large green aoe circle indicator. I just mouse over and fire away. I feel this would solve all your problems with ground targeting.
I would go as far as changing the pointer into a crosshair while in camera mode, and making camera mode into a toggle instead having to hold the right mouse button.

But it doesn’t solve the issue I mentioned, wouldn’t it be simpler with a target at the center of the screen instead of on the current position of the cursor ? Turning camera mode into a toggle can be a nice suggestion if not related to mine.
Zera Allimatti, your suggestion and mine can both exist ! I think yours is good for colorblind people. I just want to bring a new interesting gameplay without any loss of difficulty. Also, both our suggestions are pretty simples to develop (yours is quite obvious, mine is about using the screen rather than the cursor for input instructions, no more).
Aidan Savage, I don’t think ANet would do what you suggest. Ground targeting gameplay would lose all interest. Also, how to throw grenades on a moving target without having to deselect the target everytime ?
(Tell me I made mistakes or am not clear enough, it’s not my mother language. ^^)
