I know it would be difficult to implement new weapon type since ANet would need to go back to add a new weapon to all the existing skin types. However, as title suggest, we can implement fist combat without needing to deal with this.

Thematically this is possible for almost all classes with exception of maybe the engineer, and would reduce the design cost of having to add a weapon type.

For example thematically this could be:

  • Warrior/thief – boxer/brawler
  • Guardian – monk
  • Ranger – survivalist
  • Ele/mesmer/necro – direct magic manipulator

What do you guys think?

I think this suggestion has been made before, but I’m all for it regardless.
I’ve love to do hand to hand combat, especially as a charr.

I imagine warrior CQC skills would be something along the lines of;
1. Light Jab (damage), Heavy jab (damage)
2. Swing (stagger)
3. Knee stomp (cripple)
4. Uppercut (knockdown)
5. Block (self explanatory)

Can’t say for the other classes, but I’m sure someone else could.

You stand to benefit more from making friends than making enemies.
