Guild Wars 2

The more I play PvP, the more I noticed that I lot of players either block you and then send you nasty whispers. That needs to be fixed. It’s a bit much for people to be able to so easily harass others with no real obstacle in place.

Also, I’ve been paying attention to this for a while and verifying with guildmates and other players that they experience this too. Please remedy this.

What did you need to say back to them?

The answer is simple, report them then block them.

get your skin thick enough to resist the first salvo of ragewhispers, and then block and report for verbal abuse. they deserve a time out for cyberbullying, and anet will give it to them, but only if you tell on them.

Some people absolutely want to get the last word in, and feel empty when they are not able to.

Just suck it up, block them back, and move on with your life.

@DaShi: My response is typically “huh?” because I’m usually surprised by the whisper or I want to know what brought about the whisper.

@JustTrogdor: I do, but that doesn’t stop the initial barrage of whispers.

@DaveGan: As stated above, the reply is more one of surprise than anger or the desire to have the last word. I made this topic because this seems like a vast oversight on Anet’s part and I thought that they should be aware of it.

I doubt they will do anything to them as Anet seems to have a very lax policy where the sPvP community is concerned. Usually their verbal abuse is hand waved off as “passion” about the mode. Not to mention that for some reason that kind of behavior somehow became part of the norm for PvP in general (not just in guild wars, but any conflict based gaming).

It does read as an oversight, and is moderately (if not hugely) abusable.

Block being instant 2-way makes a lot of sense to me.

I had someone do this to me. Block me and then trash talk me. I blocked them. Then switched to my second account, whispered them and blocked them there too. lol

When there’s a will, etc. etc.
