As the title suggests, this is an idea for personalized notes on your soulbound items or gear. Only YOU would see them, linking over chats would not display these messages.

The note would be similar to how some items have personalized text under required level, however items that already have personalized text cannot use this personalized note feature. Could even go as far as saying only Legendary items get this level of customization.

Just brought this up because it was on my mind, like I’ve been given gems from a family member in particular, it be a neat touch to be able to add Made Possible By <name> or In Memory of <name> to your gear , just as another way to remember them by

This is probably a cheesy idea that will never come to fruition, but just a thought I figure i’d share since don’t see something like this on mmo type games

On a slight tangent, but it was always kind of sad to see developers stop attaching descriptions on to their items (not just in GW2). I like the idea of personalized item descriptions, no matter how unlikely it would be.

There is an mmo that allows for items to be ‘engraved’ and even has crafted items with the crafters name on it.
But i wouldn’t advise playing that mmo since it costs an arm & a leg just for the materials, implementing that here would make the cost comparable to a legendary weapon if it were on par to that other mmo.

Nice idea, although adding something to any mmo always comes with a ‘price tag’….and how heavy depends on the dev’s.

I’d gladly pay gems to do engraving honestly, maybe a system similar to how transmutation charges work.
