New thread because I have no idea what happened to the last one and forum search still does not work.

The old login screen/launcher was beautiful. Fullscreen, with Jeremy Soule’s beautiful music playing, an artistic and dynamic first impression for your GW2 experience. Video here By comparison, the new launcher is static, with only the addition of the news feed which is rarely used outside of major game updates and gem sales.

After the move from the old login/launcher to our current one, there was included a way to revert to the old login screen, by including -useoldlauncher on run or in your GW2 shortcut. However, this option was removed in late 2012, with no reasons given.

Please bring this option back.

I have something for u if u want. I made this back in beta. It’s a live wallpaper dark version of the login animation to save your monitor for imploding from all the white. U have the details on how to do it in the details section

Or… add something like a “press start screen” before character selection that looks like the old login screen. That would work too, wouldn’kitten

I’m hoping for the REALLY old character select screen. The Prophecies one around the campfire Or, at least, a more customisable one that lets you set the number of thumbnails visible.
