Outfits
I would like to suggest every piece of an outfit to have the option to toggle off, but also show the armor below when toggled off. This would make outfits more versatile customizing with a character’s current wardrobe selection beneath.

Wardrobe/Armor
I also suggest allowing players to use all types of armor skins from wardrobe no matter the profession. I think allowing this would create a deeper investment into the game when it comes to the skin/wardrobe feature.

I’m sure these are not new ideas so thanks for taking the time to read.

They can’t do it, outfits are made in one piece. The whole reason they are is that they can’t mix with a lot of armor out there, not because of clipping, but because the “animation bones” are different by weight. You just wouldn’t get the effect you’re thinking of, you’d get a hot mess.

Same reasoning on not being able to mix armor weights via the wardrobe.

I am sad about it, but no amount of asking is going to get it done until Anet has the spare resources, and inclination to use those resources, on remaking every single piece of armor in the game in a new system.

I would’ve recommended that this post was posted on one of the other Outfits/Armour threads, perhaps a mod can merge it.

The issue always falls back to this, and is valid for both of your suggestions: Clipping.

Outfits are unlikely to ever be separated into separate pieces. This is because the whole outfit (excluding headpiece) is one complete model. It would require a lot of work to separate these out.

But because of this, outfits can be very creative as there are no “seams” that A-net would have to work around- a chestpiece can flow absolutely seamlessly into the leg-armour. If this wasn’t the case, A-net would have to interrupt the clothing so it appears to have a physical and tangible edge.

I’m sure the time it takes to make the Carpace armor they could dole out five outfits, but they’re just not the same quality.
