[Suggestion] Overhaul of "Content Guide"

The way the “content guide” in the options is working right now, it’s confusing for many players, which is especially noticeable now with the new dailies that require you to do events on a certain map. A lot of players don’t seem to realize that there is actually an option that shows you the closest event on your map, even if you’re out of range for that particular event.

The reason for that is probably that there isn’t actually any option named “Show Events”, but only an option to “Hide Events and Personal Story”. The other possible choices are currently “Default”, “Off” and “Disable Personal Story”. So it isn’t really surprising that many players don’t know one of these does actually highlight events.

It’s even worse for the really useful tool of highlighting the closest map completion item, which a lot of players don’t even know exists because it isn’t mentioned anywhere in those options, even though it is included there.

My suggestion would be to split this “content guide” option into 4 separate checkboxes with clear naming, to avoid any confusion and to allow us to combine more freely which content we’d like to see:

- Highlight closest event
- Highlight closest map completion discovery
- Show Personal Story
- Show Living Story

I personally would actually even prefer to have an option to show ALL events on the map I’m on, not only the closest one, but I’m not sure if the majority of other players would agree with that. And I’d really like to be able to show events and map completion items while hiding personal story and living story, which isn’t possible under the current system.

I’d maybe even include festival announcements in the “Show Living Story” option, because I’d really like to be able to hide the “A Very Merry Wintersday” and “Winter Competitive Events” announcements after having seen them a lot of times by now, to free up that space at the right edge of the screen. Either that, or give us a way to close them entirely after having read them.
