The word ‘kicked’ is so….. negative….

Suggestion:
change it to ‘dismissed’ ?

Someone had a really sarcastic response on here earlier about allocating valuable dev resources to something so trivial. Guess they deleted it.

I think it’s a fine idea, you aren’t always removed from the party forcibly (kicked). I think dismissed is a pretty good catch all for any reason to remove someone.

OP: I appreciate that “kick” has negative connotations, but ultimately “kick” seems to be pretty standard when it comes to MMO terminology. Ultimately it’s as painful as you think it to be. If I was kicked from a party (without a valid reason, for example) I don’t think being “Hugged Goodbye” instead of “Kicked” would make it sting any less :P

You have been KICKED by “player name”;
and it’s not always when you’re in the party and most vote kick.

Event groups;
Commander and Lieutenant can just kick you.
Or when you have a friend inside that group, invites you in but before you can click accept, someone from the group ‘kicked’ you out. It’s still being displayed as ’You’re kicked’. It’s just too…..

Again….. I understand this is just a game~
At most, just join another group, big deal~
But I know some who really take it into heart and actually felt discouraged because of this issue. (aka. RAID). The last message that you see in your chat is ‘You have been KICKED’

I prefer:

• An unknown error has occurred.
• Why would you be a member of a party that would invite someone like you?

I suggest Trump. Once enough party members have voted to Trump, the Trumped party will see “You have been fired”.

The word is irrelevant when the result is the same. If it happens often enough it will just form the exact same negative association with the new word. What are you going to do then? Constant rotation of different terms?

Just have a Skritt burglar run toward the player screaming….“Stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff!…” then have it pick the player up screaming…“SHINY!..” while it runs away with the player.

Kick is an awful word.

I vote for it to be changed to ‘scrub remove’ so us good players have our safe space.

Hey, that’s not bad — it’d be almost polite to see:

• Party Was Kicked FROM you.
• Dude, you dodged a bullet — you didn’t really want to spend 20 minutes or more with those fools.
• I pity the fool that replaces you in that party.

There should be an option:

“You have been kicked by PLAYERNAME. Would you like to kick PLAYERNAME back? [Y/n]”
