I know I’m not the first to suggest this feature, but I wanted to elaborate a little more on the idea.

Guild halls are an awesome addition to GW2 and upgrades give you decent group of NPCs that generally have static locations that are easy to reach. And while you can decorate even the most remote and far away places in your guild hall, there really is nothing that encourages you to go there. The idea isn’t to change the existing NPCs in any way but to add new ones that can placed wherever you like.

It works for any type of guild since those who like the convenience of having all their NPCs near the central waypoint can place them there. Those who want the entirety of their guild to be relevant could place NPCs in far off places or even at the end of jumping puzzles they created.

The question is what function these placeable NPCs would serve. There’s plenty of existing npcs that could work already and the possibility for new ones are endless. I’ll give some examples below.

• Black Lion Weapon Skin Traders for the Guild Hall.
• Event Specific Merchant NPCs that can be gained as a reward and sell a variety of special items.
• Karma Merchants for respective zones as a possible map completion reward.
• Quest giving NPC that could be simple or elaborate.
• NPCs that can sell discontinued or difficult to obtain items that are wanted in game (by players and/or devs) but haven’t found a way to implement them yet.

The sky really is the limit for ideas. What are your thoughts?

P.S. Please no comments about how the devs should work on such and such other part of the game to fix this and that issue. There’s plenty of those threads elsewhere. This one is for those interested in the idea. Thank you.

I would even be happy to have just static NPC als patrons in the Tavern, as customers at the market, as guards at the war room, as farmers at the guild nodes.

Scribes could make “contracts” to hire people, like
1x scribing kit
1x lvl 80 food
1x cultural chest armour T2
1x paper

You have to sign the contract and feed your employees. The type of food would determine the profession (e.g. Omnomberry Cake = tavern patron), the armour the race). Adding a “cheers” interaction response and it would be awesome (or “To battle!”, “Don’t step on the saplings”, “This is good value” etc.

This is a great idea OP. Anything that makes guildhalls actually matter is great in my book because right now they are irrelevant. Good post.

The idea is nice in and of itself, but I wouldn’t prioritise it. It’s just a “nice to have”, imo.

Development by Accretion means that there will be new content AND new systems, but not new content (and limited fixes) FOR old systems.

Examples;
These Forums
Guild Missions
Guild Halls
Guild WvW Upgrades
WvW Rank Abilities
Dungeons
etc etc etc …

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

Well with the next expansion on the horizon I’d like to think they may add another guild hall or two, so I wouldn’t necessarily call them old content just yet.
