This actually grows out of a longstanding running joke in my guild about bacon. Today, we pranked one of our guildies by sending him a ton of meat items, and in the conversation afterward, the question of whether bacon can be craftable came up. Our guild leader searched the recipe database and found that there’s no recipe for bacon, nor does pork exist as a meat in the game (just red meat and poultry).

So why not add pork as a food item that can drop from appropriate animals (e.g., warthogs or boars)? And following on that, how about adding things like bacon, barbecue and ribs (assuming those don’t already exist) as recipes?

Look at the humans. Do you see any who are fat?

They are not fat because there’s no beacon.

Pigs are obviously used for their milk.

I don’t understand the lack of pork either. I mean…a pulled pork sandwich? Why not?
You can’t even go so far as to say it’s a thing of religious tolerance, since red meat also drops from different kinds of pigs and boars.
Another thread I’ve seen contained the wish for dino-bacon. That sounds awesome!
Pulled T-Rex sandwiches XD

That’s just a model. A costume brawl toy.

If they’d add pork, fish, and honey as cooking ingredients, they could easily fill any stat combinations not covered by existing cooking recipes.

My suspicion is its related to religious restrictions on certain foods – there would be players not comfortable having their characters consume those items and thus being (potentially) left at a mechanical disadvantage because they lacked access to certain benefit combos.

If bacon and pulled pork sandwiches had the same stats as some existing foods it would still be an issue, but a much smaller one.

I could see if this were the reasoning, but I mean, those people already sacrifice the real-world benefits of pork/bacon (if there are any but flavor), so I don’t see why this should be a problem. It’s your personal choice to use or not use any item in the game. If you let fairy tails you were told growing up influence that decision, that’s entirely on you.

Also, there are people whose religious beliefs condemn eating red meat, too, and that’s still in the game.

Have you seen the character models? No way everyone is will be that fit if bacon existed in this game.
