Hello! Over the time I’ve been in Guild Wars 2, I’ve noticed how much it’s changed over time, regardless of whether I’ve done story or not. This may be a common suggestion, but here’s my idea – private instances of tyria that change with your story. These could be instances stored on local files, or server-side instances. Basically, players who want to ‘immerse’ themselves in the story could switch to a private instance of Tyria (as in, all maps) and experience old lions arch and such pre-Scarlet, and eventually get to the point where they witness lions arch being destroyed. Along with this would be the suggestion to bring back Living Story 1, but ran inside these private Tyra instances. You could also invite your friends to your private Tyria, so that you can do these harder events with friends. This would allow you to witness Tyria change, instead of being plopped into the Tyria ravaged by current event.
The other side of this – a public Tyria – is exactly what we have now. Where everyone runs around together and fights Teq and such. My thought of switching would be, upon pressing play on your character, it prompts you with “Do you want to play Public or Private” or something to that effect. These private/public Tyrias can communicate in terms of guilds and parties, so that you still can communicate with friends, however you (and your friends, if you bring any) will be the only ones running about.
If anyone wants to expand on this, go right ahead! I personally think this would be a wonderful addition, so that new players can witness
SPOILERScarlet destroy lions arch, and the whole world become ravaged by steam creatures, and the ley line energy ravage the world
You could compare it to singleplayer, I guess, but still, Tyria changes with the story, and I think new players should be able to witness this change as well!
