So, I really like the idea of scribe in the guild hall, make you feel home. I think all kinds of customization are great additions to the game, and one of the things that attract new and existing players. e.g. customize how your character looks (armor, weapons), customize how your guild hall looks.

I always wanted to customize my home instance. I am always hoping that Anet will bring Scribe into home instance and let us build whatever we want there. buildings, decorations, trophy statues, plants etc. – At this moment, I am not really motivated to get all the nodes for just daily farming or bring friends/guildies to farm.

Technically: Scribe is already there in guild hall, it wont be difficult to bring it to home instance. – Tho Anet need to balance the impact to guild hall function, and the impact of uses about different mats/trophies.

Business side: I believe there will be a lot of people willing to spend gems / farm as hell to get our home instance looks incredible. – that might be where the next big revenue come from.

At the end, I would say, what kind of content will last forever? – Player generated content. Player will never get bored by the content they generated / changed. – Home instance in this case.

Just my ideas, thoughts? concerns?

This is observably not true, as can be seen in games like WildStar which do feature a high degree of personal housing customization, and which have steadily lost players over time.

Make a personal guild hall?

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

like you said you don’t currently bring folks into your instance. Decorating home instance is nice, but if you can’t show it off who cares.

As a mainly solo player myself that’s kinda the point of decorating. Showing off what you can do, kind of like the legendaries you craft or the style of armor you get. It’s all about the vanity and customization. Great end came content though, i’ll give ya that!

I’d prefer personal housing of an instanced village like environment(At the very least). Multiple people can pass by randomly like normal ingame environment. Being able to see what others have done will inspire you to pimp out your house too. You can show off achievements and titles or things of that nature, Personal style, how rich you are.

If we are only allowed home instance decorating, then i would like some ability to get to home instance from guild hall. or allow other in your guild to vist your home instance while not in party, kind of like the fractal portal instance. You could scroll through a list of names to visit that persons home instance to see how they’ve decorated.

It just seems less of a point to decorate if you are the only one who is going to see how fabulous you are.

or have not even attracted people like myself because they love GW2 and want personal housing here.

And yes i was originally thinking Personal guild hall. But you don’t have access to things and upgrades for 1 person is crazy insane. plus goes the whole dump your tokens into your own hall and only you will see it. I want to show off my decorating skills to lots of people randomly. They shouldn’t have to be in a party with me to view my awesomeness.

I really like how it was done in Arch Age (minus the problem with open world housing-not enough room for everyone at start)
but i hate pvp and other things they did, (P2W) so really hate that game

The best instance of player “designability” that I liked was in Rift, in which they had many different sized and themed “dimensions”. The dimension was a player’s personal space that could be designed as much as you liked (including making it a PvP area, if so desired) and also setting permissions for who you allowed into the dimension.
