[Suggestion] Spawn alts in home instance
That’s a really cool idea, I’d love to see my alts standing around in the bar in my home in DR, or just strolling along the streets. They already add in npcs based on your personal story so it wouldn’t be that hard I bet.
Would be cool if you could open their inventory as well by pressing F on them, so you don’t have to keep going back and forth to your bank (it’s the same thing, just more time efficient).
Cool idea. Would be cool to be able to duel with them too But I would imagine that would take some serious programming to do that, unless they had the same skills as the practice NPC’s in the mists lobby. I’d love to be able to practice with my alts, would be fun .
I think I like this idea, especially if you include Wexxes idea of being able to access each Alt’s inventory.
But please let’s not turn this into another dueling thread.
I had to read that 3-4 times to understand what you were asking, and now that light hath dawned over Marblehead, it’s a fun idea. All my alts are out in the world, but I suppose if they were ‘coming and going’ instead of always all there, it would be interesting.
I just wish there were more things to do at home that would make it worth my while to spend more time there. As it stands now, I’d be surprised if I noticed them.
I would love this, so to help ANet out with this:
Idea 1)
Make 63 different locations/settings, where you place an alt in. the closer you get to the 63rd setting, the crazier the setting gets (63rd being a fight with character#62, 61, and 60). People would spent money on Character slots to see how crazy the new setting is!
Idea 2)
Have a few settings to place an alt in, and choose a random alt to place in it.
I think it’d be more practical if only that area-specific alt spawned in that instance; ie. sylvari in Dreamer’s Grove, asura in the Applied Lab, humans in the Selma district, etc. Why my norn would be hanging out with a bunch of asura in Rata Sum seems odd, especially if he hasn’t even unlocked that area on his map. Naturally, this could make programming harder, but I’d prefer it this way as a sort of Easter Egg.
And if we’re making home instance changes, give more of the characters that spawn there dialogue, please! It may be nice to see a quaggan splashing in a fountain, or a certain NPC just hanging out after that story chapter had finished, but if they don’t even comment on the adventure we shared, I might as well just have a trophy case. (Speaking of, trophy case for items earned in personal story? My norn’s busted horn would go well on display somewhere…)
Awesome Glad people like the idea. Hopefully it can get enough support to actually be implemented!
You know, I actually really like this idea.
Walking into my Home Instance and seeing one or more of my alt characters in there would be rather neat.
I’m not sure how feasible it would be to able to access their inventory, but that would be cool too.
+1 for this idea, OP.

I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
i like that idea
i liked the hall of monuments in gw1 and to pick stuff that looks good together
so id prefer about 10 places to put your alts letting them fight against each other in some places (probably just to replace other npcs..)
that would be nice
i wouldnt need access to their inventory but just more customizeable things for it would be nice^^
however there are probably a lot of things much higher on anets priority so.. if it will ever find its way into the game id think itll take about three years…
anyway… i would like it^^
I have never visited my home instance since I finished the story. Why should I? There’s nothing there, right?
I think this idea is really cool. Granted I will have to say no to dueling or other shenanigans.

There’s a few Home Instance upgrades you can get (from the past Living Story, and also from Laurel Vendors if you missed them), such as mining nodes, trees, skill points, etc.
