[Suggestion] Special Days, Weeks and Weeknds
And events like that should have never made it into MMOs. They were fine in shooters, etc, since the game wasn’t about achieving things; but almost purely about gameplay. Why would I farm X or grind Y if I know it’ll be twice as quick to do it when the weekend comes up?
As for your given examples, they’d be very unfair to particular classes/characters. Due to their large weapon pool, warriors would benefit more than engineers; for example.
It’s a fun idea, but it’s just a novelty. It’s intended as a helping hand or an incentive, but it just turns into a massive grindfest during those periods to make the most of it. I remember on a certain other MMO that gave into these events (and various other bad practices), the months leading up to a double experience weekend saw the economy be completely and utterly destroyed by hoarders, speculators and manipulators and players just gathered all the resources they’d need to make the most of the experience boost. I really don’t want to see that here as well.
The idea is ok..but ur examples r not so good to tell the true :/ what if someone only have male characters? what if someone main a character without a sword..and and and….but the idea itself is great^^ like the pvp weekend we had
The idea is sound and was an excellent idea in GW1 and other games that copied it. I’m undecided on whether GW2 is fully set up to benefit such weekends though
I’d prefer things like below for a weekend incentive;
- extra magic find
- extra pvp xp gain
- extra wvw gain
- extra karma per event
