Hey all,

Yesterday, I rearranged my bags. Removed my fractal bags, added normal bags.
Now here’s my problem.

When I had the fractal / oil / craftsman, they were great as items got caught in there first. Though they were horrible for my inventory to Compact, as these bags didn’t work with the Compact button.

So I replaced most of my special bags with normal bags, that do work with the Compact feature. I love the compact feature as it actually gives me such a cleaner inventory.

Now my problem
I used to have my silver/copper fed o matics in my third bag, but as they’re normal bags now they move when I compact my inventory.

My suggestion would be, allow an item to be sticky on a certain location. You can sticky / unsticky it where you want and for as many items as you want.

If you sticky an item, they won’t move when you Compact your inventory. Making them stay on their dedicated spots while still having a very clean and organised inventory!

Let me hear your thoughts!

I think that’s an awesome idea! There’s always that problem with reranging some things in your inventory and that way it would become much easier. Love it!

I put an invisible bag as the last bag slot and then put those things up there which has pretty much the same effect you are looking for. They stay put immune to compact and nothing else get there unless your other inventory gets full.

While the idea would be more ideal than what we currently have, it would negate the need for invisible bags, which is what a fair number of people use to avoid having all their important stuff moved when compacting. I would love to see it happen, but as there is an option of some sort to prevent the items from moving, I doubt it will happen any time soon.

Actually the do not “Compact” function isn’t specific reserved to the invisible bags.

My oiled leather pack, craftman’s bag, equipment box, fractal equipment bags all have the same:“Do not Compact” feature.

So the invisible bag can still have it’s: Do not sell function, as a stickied item won’t have that.

It’s a bit over the top that an item wouldn’t be able to be sold when stickied, when there are dedicated invisible bags for that.

having a “stickied” option would be kind of cool. especially for things like the copper fed or weapons that youa re rotating out of during a run.

what I personally do that may help you until something else. comes along. I put an invisible bag on my bottom slot. the first slot of that bag is designated to my copper fed. all of my weapons and the like are in that bag as well so i do not salvage them or what have you. everything above that bag is collected loot and salvageable. When i hit “compact” it will go from the slot right before my copper fed and “up”

it works for me (shrug)

Alternatively you can also do something similar with it being in the top. and just put your copper fed on the “last” slot. so it will only compact up to that point. Everything “below” it is whatever.

My last 2 bags are where salvageable equipment goes and the copper salvage o matic goes in the first slot in the bags. when sorted the salvage kit doesn’t move and items gained from salvaging goes to the above bags which i can deposit or sell

my temporary solution to this problem is the following:
-my first 5 bags are normal ones, that compact themselves.
-Then a craftsman bag (does not compact)
-Then 2 invisible bags for equipment (does not compact or sell)

I’ve moved all my gear to the invisible bags, cleaning out the top of my bags.
On the highest row I’ve put my copper/silver o matics together with some usefull items.

This comes down to:
Even though it compacts, it’s still not moving as my highest row consists of mostly permanent items that won’t ever get destroyed.

Still I’d prefer to have them in my 3rd bag, and putting a different bag there that doens’t compact just doesn’t do it for me

Entirely agree here.. Make smart use of invisible bags for all that stuff.. I won’t be compacted and it can’t be sold by accident..

It’s a nice workaround till they would implement this, I agree.

the problem with the workaround however, is when you switch from a main/offhand set to a two handed set. The main one will go and replace where ever the two handed weapon was, but then the offhand usually goes wherever it wants…usually the first available slot in your inventory. The special bags do prevent accidental selling, yes, but they dont prevent this.

Weapon “slots” like in Gw1 would be amazing here, especially for an ele who may have to switch weapons (i do frequently on mine) and the menu is the only way to do so.
