Don’t worry, this is no thread in which I’m complaining to ANET without a solution. This is the opposite, this is the solution to a problem. For a long time I’ve always felt as a heavy RP-er myself that we’re being neglected. There’s barely anything we’re given. We had townclothes and outfits ( brilliant idea making outfits combat-able btw!!! ) but it just doesn’t feel enough. The rper community might be a minority but we’re still a big part of the community, and many players like me, mainly play the game for it’s great lore and great community itself. So please ANET, make the roleplayers stick out a little more, so that our RP can get easier. Because most of us just wanna enjoy this game and beautiful lore up close because we really love the artwork you’ve created.

The solution is easy! It’s not a big RP server – it’s a RP marker.

Rp marking:
This is a bit difficult because having a special marker can be abused by others. I remember in LOTRO when you were able to type in a command ( /roleplayer ) and make your name white, so that everyone knew who was in IC or OOC. Surpisingly, not that many abused it. But that’s ONE con. The PRO is actually quite attracting.
PROS:
With a RP marker we don’t need the hussle of creating a whole server but the RP community will still be satisfied. Example of this would be:
Type in the command /IC and a marker next to your name saying (IC) shows up.
Type in the command /OOC and the marker disappears.

It’s not flashy and will therefore not be abused as much. And it’s easier for us roleplayers to spot eachother, which we want.
So ANET, please don’t pat our shoulders – make something great to our community! The solutions are not that difficult to add and it would do a great difference to a big part of this gaming community.

ALSO – if we have an IC marker ingame – we could add this to the Megaserver system. This would actually fix a problem we roleplayers been having. Everyone with the IC marker active would most likely end up within the same area – so that if you wanna roleplay with others, you would end up with the other active roleplayers. This would be like a miniature RP server – but with NO hussle!
