Suggestion: Tomes of Knowledge
This may have been suggested in the past, as I only just skimmed the forum for any post but anyways…
Seems lots of people have an over abundance of Tomes of Knowledge. How about letting Tomes be salvaged for 1 random tier 6 material?
You can already turn ToK into loot by starting a new toon, using tomes to level, and repeat until you have fewer ToK stacks.
Alternately, consume for one spirit shard, which https://gw2efficiency.com/currencies/spirit-shards will tell you the profit of, usually more than a few silver per shard.
(Though fair warning, the reason it remains valuable is that it is tedious.)
Remove “Account Bound”, let people sell them. Problem solved.

What if ANet doesn’t agree it’s a “problem”? What if ANet thinks that leveling should be something earned by the account, not bought from other players or the gem shop?
Please, don’t make ToK sellable! Let new players learn their proffesions, while leveling their toons to 80. Insta 80 boost already took care of increasing the chance of meta-fails.

I don’t disagree. But at the same time after having leveled every class 2-3 times, I sure wouldn’t mind buying a few extra Tomes, or just ask guild members with spare tomes for a few etc. Also good if you have a second account and just want to level up a toon on it quickly etc.
I certainly agree that new players shouldn’t just grab a pack of tomes and insta 80. Heck I am even against the free 80boost item we got (except for the free shared inventory slot!).
So something like this definitively should have some clauses, like you can only buy Tomes if you already have a level 80 toon, or something else. But I didn’t bother write an essay for that post, because nobody reads it anyways :p
I think the Tomes are a bad design in the first place, and that leveling on the whole is overly dragged out for the sake of leveling, instead of streamlined into something more practical (like a 20 level system like they had in GW1, and rather give you meaningful upgrades per level, instead of a dozen filler junks we get now).

The leveling process is pretty kitten quick in GW2 honestly. My biggest gripe with it is that as I level new toons I’ve noticed that I can map complete a zone that says it has a 5 level range and only level up twice from it, or map complete a zone that says its for a 10 (or even 15 for Lornars pass) level range and only get about 4-5 levels out of it. And really this is only a gripe because it means I frequently have to switch to a different zone because the final hearts/HPs in a zone are ~8-10 levels above my character, who entered that zone at the right level. And even then it only annoys me because I can be single minded, and once i start a zone I like to finish that zone before moving on to another one (aka its just a personal problem, not one with the leveling process itself).
Only change that I think ToK need is to be able to right click and use all.
