Firstly I’m sorry for doing any typos & grammar mistakes while presenting this idea.

I had this idea lately of dyeing two colors for my mesmer hairstyle, an example for what i have in mind is dyeing the hair blonde but half of the ponytail hair purple. I’ve gone through some other discussions topic page and there are a few that mention they want to be able to dye the “accessories” for their hairstyles which had them which i kind of agree, i changed my hairstyle once & dint pick some of it cause i find it does not always match the color when i change the dye on the gears I’m using.

and so I’m suggesting if its possible to let us have an UI which ;

Allow players to dye 2 (or more) colors to the hairstyle. (ex. For hairstyles without accessories – hair with dye-able ponytails or frills etc, and for males character with maybe hair with dye-able sideburns etc). For hairstyles with accessories, allow players to dye the accessories.

How I’m imagining the UI in the Dye Wardrobe will be something like allowing us to place a dye for the hair edges or accessories etc. and a separate box like outfit for the “Helm” dye with a tiny check-box option to display headgear.

P.S : Not trying to lie here that I’m suggested the UI to make this possible without having me to buy a hair-kit for this. (^-^0) And I would like to have some players feedback or way to improve this idea too if possible. Thank you.

Being able to dye hair accessories in the normal hero UI is certainly a reasonable suggestion and has been mentioned over and over for a very long time. I would imagine it will be eventually implemented through a feature patch.

Your idea of being able to have multiple colours in pre-existing hair styles, however, I doubt will happen. In terms of programming, it would be very laborious to create a new UI, realistic dye regions etc on the pre-existing ones.

However! We already have a form of this in some of the asura hair styles. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Unique_hairstyle_8_female_asura_front.jpg for example). Here, the bluey-purple “high-light” part is controlled by the accessory dye area.

I could imagine A-net releasing new hair-styles for all races similar to these asuran ones- small highlights or dip-dye kind of styles. Of course, any hair-styles they make will probably look quite different to any of the existing ones for variety’s sake. New hairstyles will also stick to racial conventions/themes.

Lastly, on an important note, I doubt that hair-kits will become free, or a similar feature available in the Hero UI. These kits are a form of revenue for A-Net- people use real money to buy gems to purchase them. As a general business plan, you only put a lot of time and effort into things that are going to create revenue. Putting a lot of resources into something and then making it free bypasses any chance of profiting from the effort.

I’m not sure GW2 will ever feature the dyeing of hair, as this is part of an alteration package in the Gem Store.

However, a weapons dyeing facility would be fun.

And yes dyeing hairstyle accessories should be made possible, just trying to find more options to place more customization options to hairstyles that don’t have accessories on to be fair, two birds with one stone

Plus, another example would be the male character hairstyles with “stripes” would look awesome, and i believe all the existing hairstyles can be dyed in “x” amount of colors.Like how Twilight Abor armors can “blend” in the different color of dyes used together, just need to duplicate the idea to be implemented to hair color.

Just try to think of some small part of the hair is a “wig”, just like an accessories to make all the existing hairstyles have the same option to be dyed in 2 or more colors to be fair to the ones with accessories to be dyed.
