Your post’s link made me smile as it is a track in my favorite game. My siblings and I probably have played that game about 500+ hours.

I feel the same way about GW2’s great potential – it’s my second most favorite game. I still see allot of potential with this game’s core systems (its Dynamic Events System; Scaling; General Core Combat Systems and Game-play but not its trait trees-nothing really game changing in there at all).

However, the short-term profit incentive reigns supreme and dictates what’s happening with the game for better or for worse. Yes its extremely important for profits to be made- but why fundamentally move away from the Manifesto?

1. I don’t see how pvp in pve areas will make the game any better. We already have plenty of pvp areas for players to go and battle each other. What pve needs is more dungeons and better LS content.

2. Harder content would be nice and welcomed by some, including me. BUT, the reality is most players don’t want harder content. Look what happens on the forums when harder content is added.

I am afraid I stopped reading as soon as the post mentioned PvP in PvE maps. With all the new changes to PvP, I think there is already a rewarding place to meet others for PvP.

This game was designed with the idea that PvE and PvP are kept separate, and for the most part they are. If they changed it, I’d leave the game. I have no interest in fighting other players unless I CHOOSE to fight them.

I have no interest in failing events because people are do busy killing each other to do the event. This wouldn’t make the game fun for me. It would make the game unplayable.

Part of the reasons I left Rift.

Yeah there’s so much potential on what to do, and it makes me sad that if we get new interesting race like Tengu, it wouldn’t be that interesting because there’s not much to do. They are making this game easy for the new people, but at the same time it becomes terrible for us who need challenges. It would be so much more interesting and rewarding if no one could trade or give gold to other players and you would have to achieve new gear with effort and luck. Think about how cool it would be to gather up with your guild and do challenging stuff together, earn stuff with effort of you and your friends. Just make something that is so hard no one can beat it, and multiple of them! You can’t make everything easy, that way you’re only making this for mainstream people. But like you said, we can still hope and suggest.

This is pretty unconscious talk, seems like one of the mainstream people. He didn’t say it would be like that at all, its more like its extra stuff for people who need challenges, not changing the whole world to some pvp in pve. People who don’t like it simply doesn’t have to participate.
