[Suggestion] Unlock weapon skills after 80.
I would like an option in the options menu where you can simply disable the NPE altogether. I have 18 characters, do I really have to treated like a “new player” just because I made character no. 19?
A warrior with a duel wielding GS mastery would be pretty awesome and could be implemented easily. It could be a choice of take this mastery but forfeit swapping hands to a different set of weapons.
Exaclty Mental, either an option, a mastery, but something where we can move away from the NPE, we are no longer newbies and it makes no sense for the game to keep treating us like such.
Would love to get more people in this thread so it gets more attention.
For those of us who are new what is NPE?
NPE = New Player Experience. Last April the game’s first levels changed fairly drastically, removing a lot of the things you used to do in the early part of play and adding in the level reward chests.

No, that was in september.
April: Crit damage nerf, megaservers, trait system, accountwide colour unlock and wardrobe.
September: NPE
Edit: I’m a bit fussy about this as the NPE is not a bad idea in my opinion, the trait system is and people often think they were released simultaneously which they weren’t.
And @ OP: Before the NPE each of your characters had to unlock each of the weaponskills by using the weapons, so even as a “veteran” you had to do that stuff all over again.

I’m very sorry you had to play the game in this sorry state. Some of us don’t even level alts normally, anymore. Those that still do just use scrolls or Mist trains. Some, like me, that actually want to experience proper leveling, just don’t level alts anymore.
Edit: grammar and coherency

Seems like a pretty insignificant complaint. you have all of your weapon skills by what? level 10? That takes a whole hour…

Trait system = NPE
If you focus on only on what was released in September then you’re right, traits are unrelated.
However if you look at the grand scheme of the changes that have been made:
“Simplifying” gem exchange
Traits
Leveling rewards
(How SP are awarded, technically apart of above)
Etc.
All of them and others (had to leave them off due to time constraints on my end) are commonly considered NPE, as the underlying theme of the last years updates. So it depends on which NPE being referred to… So you don’t need to be “fussy”

No, the trait system has got nothing to do with the NPE, even if there was a “to make it easier for newer players” it had everything to do with the asian market and people demanding this game to be more like GW1 which had skill unlocks. Unlocking traits is the opposite of the NPE as new players have no clue how to unlock them and can only get some more info about it when googeling/using external websites.
I am fussy, sorry because these two things have nothing in common.

I know that, my point is not how things used to work. Is to improve how things can work.
With the addition of the mastery system, and their talk about account unlocks and progression, it would be briliant to implement a system that allows for an easier time when leveling alts.

Complaining and suggesting stuff are two different things.
