When creating a new character, there coul be an option that let us choose to unlock weapon skills by using the respective weapon (like it was in the past), or by reaching certain levels (the way it works now).

It’s just because it makes more sense to learn new skills with a certain weapon by using and practicing with it. It doesn’t make much sense to unlock skills with a weapon that you’ve never seen in your life by using another one completly different. For example, you don’t learn to use a Longbow by training with a knife.

So to make it better for everyone, this option could be created.

Exactly what I’ve been saying all along since the NPE came out.

It was easier for players to learn the weapons skills by slowly unlocking them by killing things rather than having them unlock all at once if you never used the weapon before.

Example, Warriors and Rangers using swords or axes. 2 very different play styles when it come to skills. Unlocking the skills one by one while killing things made it easier to learn the different styles.

The NPE was meant to help new players by making things less confusing yet they in turn possibly made it more confusing when it comes to weapon skills.

Kill stuff to unlock weapons skills, most confusing thing I ever heard of. (sarcasm)

By unlocking skills one by one though practicing, its easier to learn different combinations of skills. If you unlock all at once its harder to understand how each one works and how they can be combined with others.
