[Suggestion] WP Teleport Effects

You wouldn’t see it anyway, so you are suggesting players pay for something that they will never see themselves use.
Doesn’t seem like that good of an idea unless you really like the idea of mass griffon abductions.

Actually, I kind of do like that idea.
And yes, not being able to see it used on yourself is the downside of the idea, but I’m wondering if people would buy it (for a reasonable price) anyway just for the style of it.

would be great if not for the long loading screens that instantly pop up as soon as you wp, really wouldnt be able to see anything. I would rather they work on reducing load times when waypointing, cool idea though.
Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.

Well lore wise waypoints are something you actually teleport to, not some griffon carrying you there across Tyria… Even though it would be fun to see someone getting eaten by wurm right in front of you to be spit out somewhere else. Much like that gemstore stomp. Is it too immersion breaking though?

Haha .. that would be a nice implementation of “wormholes”
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I doubt ANet will be buying players SSDs and go around upgrading networks any time soon.
I can’t see this being a big seller unless they add a sort of cinematic effect when you waypoint, so you can see yourself go. That might get irritating, however, if you have to watch it every time.
This idea is creative, but potentially problematic. Some waypoints get very busy, particularly around world bosses or farming events, so a couple people with griffons quickly turns into a whole flock, which turns into an ghastly, overlapping blob of griffon wings, wurms, and Asuran particle effects.
This sounds similar to something Runescape have when you teleport somewhere, and it was quite cool, though the teleport had a cast time so you could actually see it yourself.
As an example.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the idea would cause more problems than it’s worth. Let’s toss this one on the reject pile.
