[Suggestion] We need lvl 80+ maps
Maps like that wouldn’t really work unless you cap mobs at level 85. The reason for that is when a mob has a higher level than a player it will take less damage and the player will perform a lot of glancing hits on the mob.
If you up that to level 90 then you’d probably see no damage at all.
Boon Dispenser. Lv80 Guardian 15/25/0/20/10 Boom Dispenser – Lv80 Engineer 30/30/0/10/0
Chuck Thunderstruck – Lv 80 Ele 30/10/10/10/10
I can see your point, but it could be worked around by not having mob evasion scale after a certain point couldn’kitten not sure how they pull it off in other games from the tech side.
Honestly they could just load them down with hp and give them a damage increase and i would be happy. i love gw2 and i want it to do well….. but I’m so bored

That’s the point. Eventually you’ll just hit in the 10’s.
Try taking a level 30 character to a level 40 zone and see what i mean

you need parties to farm for rarer drops, maybe obsidian shards or increased key drops or new items whatever
Restricting rare/better loot to endlevel grouping isn’t the core of what this game is about. The idea is that the whole game is your endgame, and you can do pretty much everything from walking around Metrica Province to kicking Subject Alpha out of the Crucible of Eternity to gain rewards that are useful and relevant at your level.
Right now this works very well. Whether I walk around enjoying the sights and farming copper nodes that I can upgrade to much-needed iron by investing a skillpoint I gained at said walk in the park … or province, or roam a high-level dungeon for high-tier materials, a healthy mix of content as much as guarantees that I’ll gather a healthy mix of rewards that for example allow me to forge the ascended sword my mesmer has an eye on.
Once you put better rewards behind a specific content wall (in this case above-level group areas), you will restrict their accessability to a large base of casual-oriented players and at the same time force all players into the same kind of content to gain comparable rewards. Right now you can play all kinds of content in this game and still be able to competitively gear your characters fairly easily. Once one specific kind of content will offer rewards considerably better than the rest, this game is no better than all the other loot treadmill games out there.

Sorry, but an open world zone where people are encouraged to group is not anti-casual, it’s anti-anti-social.
You can play for only an hour a day and group up with other human beings, that has nothing to do with being ‘hardcore’ or ‘casual’
I’m all for the casual player, but i have 7 lvl 80s all in ascended/exotic gear and 2 legendarys, and Ive seen the sights, trust me. Am i supposed to just quit now? At what point will they be punishing the core gamers in favor of the casual? running the same dungeons over and over gets old.
How do we know the ‘core’ game population is not ‘casual’?
You should have new maps and content coming soon….about 2 weeks, I think. =)
Not in the foreseeable future, maybe never.
this not true?
While i can agree that the concept of restricting specific loot to endlevel grouping isn’t part of the core of gw2, i do think we need some more end-game content.
Its pretty easy to hit level 80, and what then? As soon as i’d hit level 80, it took me only a few weeks of casual play to get kitted out in full exotic armor. You can go for ascended armor, but this just comes down to a gold grind until you can buy materials to get the required crafting level.
Thats a big issue i have with gw2. In the end-game, everything comes down to gold grinding. And once you have ascended armor and weapons, thats it, except for going for a ridiculously expensive legendary weapon. But after that, there is nothing better to find.
I think we need higher-level gear, which is harder to get than ascended armor and can’t be bought with gold. Right now, i think a ‘maxed-out’ character is a bit easy to get to, and few goals remain beyond that.

Or you could you know gather the material yourself. The game has always been a lot more fun when not rushed. Getting the materials yourself will take a lot longer… no doubt but its a lot more fun then farming gold imho. You get to play different content you get to play in different area and not repeat the same content over and over again. you’ll also be getting a little gold in the process together with the mats.
anyhow up to you just a little suggestion.
As for new maps, definitely new maps I would rather they’re not all level 80 but I have a feeling thats exactly what we’re getting hence why LS S2 can be done at level 80.
As for difficulty of the mobs well you dont need to over level them for that. Veteran karkas for example are pretty hard to solo, it can be done and its actually a good idea as long as it doesnt have exclusive rewards.

Well, i’d love to, but the problem is that i don’t know how to do this without going dozens of times slower than the TP. I have no idea how to consistently go finding these fine crafting materials so it doesn’t take me a full hour to make a single insigna, and i barely know where to get linen as a level 80 character.
Agreed, maybe new maps don’t all need to be level 80. I’d just like some more variety in my gameplay, something that isn’t dungeon running or map exploration.
The amount of PvE fights that can’t be solved by either just standing around spamming my grenade line at it or stacking in a corner, throwing down my reflect and lobbing grenades, is pretty small.
I don’t think over-leveling mobs is a good idea for this. But we need more complicated boss mechanics, that can’t be solved by a zerk DPS spam. Im going to pull a quick example out of my sleeve here – a boss that has four braizers in the room, and takes no damage/strongly reduced damage unless you light up the majority of these with logs and kindling you chop/gather in the area.
Currently, also, the amount of it which i actually get something useful out of aside from a once-a-day chest, is really small.
Heck, simply the amount of things i can actually still call useful has gotten pretty small.
I have nothing to go for, no goals to strive for, except a single silly weapon or increasing an AP counter that frankly i don’t really care about.
