{Suggestion] Weapon Name Reformat
No not really because If I wanted to switch from my sinister to my rabid scepter both with the same skins, I see only the name from the dropdown list. I prefer to see the type of stats.
Same with other charaters, I used to have 5 different axes on my warrior, just the full name with all the things. It’s ok
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
And if its just an option, or if the Type Term would get shown in a different color, based on what it is, if Berserker, Sinister, Rabid ect. ??
Then you’d easily be able to tell by the color if the type term in the description by 1 look, which stats it has.
I think, it should be done as an option in the Menu, thats deactivateable or activateable as you wish.
An other Option that I would suggest is, that instead of showing a Prefix as a Type under the Weapon Power, another option could be that besides of the Weapon Name could be shown just simple a Stat Symbol based on which Prefix a Weapon has.
A Weapon for Example with Knight Steats could be then like this:
Tempest Dagger (Knight Symbol)
Also a Way, how you’d be able to see directly, what stats a Weapon has, without these terrible long names (which sound by the way also mostly ridiculous and generic, but thats not the topic ^^)
You know, personally I’d find it the best option, if we would be able to name our Weapons as liek we want, basically that weapons could be named like Ranger Pets.
I mean, when there is in the Character Data space for saving such infos about a pet’s name, then I think we should also be have to have the space to save the info about our Weapon Names, but that woudl be just the ultimate solution I can think of that I’d like to see somewhen in GW2, because that would be the easiest way to differentiate your weapons with same skins, by just giving them different name.
However, I’m talking here mostly about a QoL, so it should be somethign, that should be in the end optionally usable, because also QoL Changes are nort always things, which everybody needs and you are now with your answer naturally the best example, which proves me right, that for everyone, who would like this idea, there surely is one person also, who would have no usage of this QoL, because of personal preferences.

I don’t really see the benefit here.
Long names aren’t much of a problem- I feel that weapon names are pretty efficient in the way that they deliver the maximum amount of information at a glance.
Ok, so it might take a split second to read e.g. “Mighty Iron Dagger of Blood”. But hovering over the item and then mousing over other items in the description will take much longer to portray the same information. Surely this is clunkier than the system already in place?
Right now you can interpret a lot from those few words. Say if you got an exotic drop whilst in a dungeon- on the right hand side of your UI it will say “Berserker’s Iron Greatsword of Bloodlust” in orange. You know straight away what kind of value the item is without having to even check your inventory. This would be very different to just seeing “Iron Greatsword” in orange.
This is how it works for ascended weapons though :p (armour I’m not sure about)
Tormented XXX of Torment is the best naming convention ever
Hovering over hovers is bad. Now all important infos are readable easily. And the name is good summary.
This is how it works for ascended weapons though :p (armour I’m not sure about)
It works this way for ascended armor as well as weapons, where the skin’s name is displayed while the stat set/upgrade are not.
Especially on higher end weapons, I don’t see why we can’t give our weapons unique names. Obviously, it would have a filter similar to ranger pets, where you can’t name it something terrible and offensive.
Personally, I have 8 rifles. All with different sigil combinations for different purposes. I realize most people aren’t going to go that far, but being able to name them would make recognizing those with the same skins that much faster. Plus, I just think it would be amazing for a “Pop Gun” ascended rifle to have a ridiculously macho name. Like “Zombie Splicer.” -pop-
