Suggestion: Weapon size scaling slider
I think that would be handy for Asura in the opposite direction. I’d love to be able to scale down my Guard’s GS so it isn’t buried in the ground. If it was done, I would hope it wouldn’t change the scale too much in either direction, though.
doesn’t sound too bad. +1 to this. make my sword huge! lol
We could call it the Cloud Strife control.
Downvote.
Any other support for this?
No thanks.
I wouldn’t mind at all if Anet designed more weapons with different sizes in mind, for instance, Bonetti’s rapier is much longer than the average sword. More skins and more variety is excellent.
However, I think putting this in the control of the players is a terrible idea. I can imagine people upscaling the size of flashy weapons (e.g. legendary greatswords and “pseudo-legendaries”) and seeing more bright flashing everywhere.
The other problem is this: current weapon models are made to fit character models. If you increase the overall size of a sword, the sword hilt will also increase… there will be more clipping issues. Similarly, decrease the size of a weapon and there will be gap between the character model’s hand and the weapon.

Can I just make my sword longer? Lol
I wouldnt mind the ability to shrink my characters’ weapons a bit. More realistic scale would make some weapons that I currently dislike much more appealing.
Make modifications to weapons affect the appearance of the weapons. Example: increased range makes weapons longer.
Could be applied to new legandaries or all weapons…
heh… id like to do the opposide of what the OP is asking for cause im not much a fan of giant weapons…especially 1 handed stuff, most daggers are gigantic and actually already go into shortsword territory. So yea.. if the slider also would work the other way arround i would support it anytime
Can I just make my sword longer? Lol
I’m sure that increasing just one aspect (length, width, depth) would distort textures applied to the model. Not only this, when you stretch the model in one way, you distort everything. Imagine a longbow being stretched vertically. Consider pistols/rifles being stretched a similar way- suddenly they won’t fit a character model’s hand or arm very well.
Another point to add with increasing the scale of some weapons is loss of texture quality.
I have a very small male charr thief that wields the Sovereign Spatha (http://argos-soft.net/GW2/WeaponGallery/index.php?weapon=0&skinID=1097e16&lang=en). Even though he’s a small charr, to fit his model, the sword model is larger than standard. This means that the texture on this sword is blown-up and has lost a good deal of its crisp detail. If I was to wield this on an even larger charr or norn, the sword texture would look even more blurry.
Add on top of this the ability to increase weapon size/length/whatever and you decrease the overall aesthetic.
Add this feature to unique items that are created to be modifiable
Btw that sword is very girthy yet very strange. I like the look of it. Good luck finding a sheath for that though.
