Just a thought but how about when HoT launches.. those who are using the Black wings back piece instead of getting the glider annimation pop up you simply spread your wings and fly.. well glide with them?

it’s just a minor cosmetic thing but It would be really cool if this could happen

I don’t have the wings myself.. waiting for them to come back but this I would love to have when I get them

To be honest, this was what I thought at first when the item code for the black wings first came out and I previewed it. It makes perfect sense given the size and everything.

Since wings were “a one-day peak of future items”, I believe they are simply a backpack skin which replaces the glider skin, but since they were ready anyway and looked so faren cool and could’ve given a pile of fast money, ANet decided to put them on sale earlier.

I am sure variants of glider items will be added to the gem store in the future.

I hope not, if they don’t bother properly animating stuff like that then it will look even worse as a glider skin than they do as a backpack… do I really need to post the flying monkey gif again…

I hate wings, and would dislike this very much.

I already feel that wings are immersion breaking and lore breaking items. They aren’t magic, they aren’t mechanical, they are simply sold aesthetics that infect the game and flap around like clueless bird wings. They are bothersome to just be around, to me.

That is how I really feel ????

As much as I’d love to see the wings be the main part of gliding, I don’t know if I’d want to see how the animation and posture turns out. It could look so stupid xD
