[Suggestion] dungeon and fractals
I personally really like being able to change builds, since it adds a lot more diversity and also a higher skill cap to simple classes like warrior, or already complicated classes like engi/ele.
I think we can all agree that dungeons are way too easy and the difficulty should be increased a lot, but this would only limit your possibilities of making easy content a bit interesting.
Think about blasting stealth or prestacking might for instance.
As an ele you can now quickly swap trough different weapons to blast fields, if you would be stuck on staff all the time all you have to do is place eruption and afk.
This would also greatly increase the amount of necros/rangers that get kicked since certain classes are more important then, which isn’t a good development because (well played) rangers are getting more and more accepted lately
Dungeons are 3 year old content. They are not getting redesigned or changed.
Your entire post, while well thought out, just has 1 flaw: you assume people change traits/gear for/in dungeons.
That’s simply not the case, at least not as much as you might think. Fractals, yes, you might change some stuff for one or two fights, but even here it’s mostly not needed.
Adding any type of restrictions would create only 1 situation: the class fullfilling the role the best without having to change skills gets taken along, others get left behind.
On gear, no one runs anything but zerker. Neither for fractals, nor for dungeons. If they do, that’s a valid choice, but it certainly is not required. Thus restricting this makes no sense besides making people fret even more on this issue.
Back when you needed to use the trait reset man to reset your traits dungeons were also easy lol being able to change traits doesn’t make dungeons easy, dungeons have always been easy since the beginning. If you think that dungeons are easy now it means that you’ve gotten good.
Hey, if you want to play that way as a personal challenge or something, nothing is stopping you.
I believe dungeons were built as ‘starter modes’ for group content. Moving forward, we have fractals and raids as more grown-up versions. I doubt dungeons will be altered, so take them for what they’re worth and enjoy them as you see fit.
They removed the functionality you described for a reason.
It’s highly unlikely they will bring it back.
