Hi all, this is just something that I think would improve the game for some, so I’ll keep it short so Devs will take it seriously.

Problem: While I love gw2s use of ground targeted effects and alerts to notify of enemy attacks, even if on some it, keeps you on your toes more than others (sand giant, mk-2). When fighting Champions and higher or in meta events, with other player skills (consecrations, fire fields, shadow fields, ice fields etc), it becomes very difficult to see these warning circles at all. While I play both ranged and melee professions, this causes my melee ones more issues. Occasionally going from full hp to downed without knowing why (maybe I’m a poor player, I prefer to think not).

Solution: Having the border of the screen change color based on if standing in one of the above fields. I believe frontal attacks and arcs are orange and fields (poison, lightning, fire) are red. This way we will look down less at the ground (whether we see anything beneficial or not). Such tech already exists in the form of blinds and the downed state animation and thus would just need expanded upon.

Since the start of the game, I’ve found gw2 to be beautiful to look at, both for its world and spell effects, I’d hate to turn my graphics down. I would use a mod but you know.. not really an option.
