Hello,

In the MMO, Lord of the Rings Online, they had a game mode called skirmish. This really was a fun option for things to do, one of my favorite. The skirmishes had different locales. They had different objectives like defense, capture points, etc. There were boss fights and loot. It scaled from 1 to 12 players I believe so everyone could it enjoy it they way they wanted.

I would love to see something like this in GW2. This game mode would fit GW2 so perfectly. It could be scaled 1-20 players so it could even feel “raid like” for big groups. These locations would be a static like defending a point from waves of attacks. Existing locations could be used for this. No new art assets required. Anet could even create a survival mode to see long teams could last. Also you could sell different scenarios through the gem store. mo’ money.

Please consider this Arenanet.

Thank you.
ps…. for players that are unaware of this game mode just search youtube for “lotro skirmish gameplay” so you can see how it plays out.

It isn’t.

I played LotRO, and these skirmishes were nothing but small dungeons, usually themed like orc-attacks on villages and the likes.
You had to fulfill special objectives for bonuses, but normally it was just one scripted event after another, until you meat the final boss / group of bosses / final attack/defense event and got your rewards…

Welp, it’s a bit better developed than guild-challenges, which usually have very 1-dimensional objectives, but beyond that, it’s not really special.
The raids on LotRO were fun tho.
I guess the balrog sword (along with my other furniture) is still standing in my front-yard… or is in my mail… didn’t payed rent for the past 2.5 years^^

As someone who has expressed things he wishes this game to have a lot lately, and received no reply from anet, I’ve lost hope that they listen to everyone.

Err, not wanting to be offensive, but do you really meassure their spend attention for the community in how much attention got distributed to you personally?

They definitively read the forums. I’m especially sure about that, since I unintentionally did grouch’s homework once, where he would ask a bunch of question to the WvW devs in ready-up, related to golems on the new bordermaps, line by line with the exact same wording from one of my posts.

Could have at least fixed my spelling mistakes…^^
