For now I have been reporting gold sellers in chat as “botting” and from in-game mails as “spamming”, but both do not really describe the reason why I want to report these persons. I would like to suggest the option “gold seller/power leveling service” to both chat report and ingame mail report. Thanks a lot!
Agreed. I would like to see a “gold seller” option added to the list. I would also like for the person I am reporting to be automatically added to my blocked list when this option is used.
^ This, but only for “Gold Seller”.
I also would like to see such an option.
Indeed we really need this, I keep trying the spamming and scamming options but neither seem to be working, I still see gold sellers with the same names since the launch of the game, their obviously not getting banned… unlike everyone else who keeps getting random bans for no reason.
I just mark them as “scamming”, since ultimately their goal is to acquire your credit card number and other personal information.
I Mark them as “Spamming” If it’s through chat, since they probably use bots to re-post every _______ minutes, so it’s spamming, and if i get sent mail, i report as scamming, since i get one mail, it cant be spam, so i can’t put it under spam, But Gold Selling always leads to scamming, and stealing accounts.
Count me in on the “Gold Seller” option for reporting. I call it “Spamming” because it’s bloody garbage, and I don’t even READ spam on my e-mail.

Currently I report it as spamming, because that is all I see, don’t know if it is actually a scamming (and will never find out, since I don’t use such services).
In Divinity’s Reach on Desolation Server the map chat is spammed every few minutes with gold sellers, how they get past the excessive messeging blocker I don’t know because if I try to type anything more than once it blocks me….
Anyway loads of us report them but hours later they are still spamming the crap out of DR’s map chat and noone can even talk.
Why are these gold sellers not being banned after being reported for hours?
Also,
If a player has been report for “Gold Selling” by X amount of players – they automatically get banned until a Dev can look into the situation and confirm it.
Example: If at least 20 players report a person for ‘Gold Selling’ or ‘Botting’, they get an automatic ban. That way, a situation can be handled fast and efficiently.
Yes. A “gold seller” option in the report function would be great.

No, power like this should never be given to the players. While the intentions of the function are pure, people tend to be jerks on the internet. Something like this is far too easily abused.
All the player needs is a report function and an ignore function, nothing more, nothing less.

The players don’t need to be notified of something like this.
Agree with Ashes
Doesn’t matter. The idea alone is terrible. Because it Will be found out eventually, and thats when the harassment begins. Not even to mention the waste of time on the devs parts who gotta investigate!
Definitely would agree with a “Gold Seller” option. Have received several mails from different accounts, all of which have been reported as “Scamming”.

Agreed, kind of. It seems reasonable to add a messaging block on people who have been marked as spamming until it can be investigated. The ideal would be to secretly hide any of their messages that contained the words cheap, www, gold and more than 3 misspellings.

This is a very good suggestion, and I do applaud Arena.net for giving us the report features so early in the game.
I report them as scammers, but I like your suggestion

Agreed. Having that kind of power, someone could just say something stupid on accident in chat or even as a simple sharing their opinion and everyone disagrees with it could lead to them being banned. People ignore and report people over the stupidist things sometimes.
Like Ashes said, ignore and report is all we need, but we could use more options under the report function like the OP suggested. I’ve reported every single “gold farmer” and “power leveler” post I have seen so far as spam.

You need only report them as “Spamming”, this will have the desired effect, our GM’s that are live monitoring those reports will deal with them just as quickly
