I’ve been playing with builds a little bit in some build editors, and trying to come up with new ideas for support roles in groups. I’ve looked at a couple of things that would be useful as healer builds on classes we don’t usually think of as providing this role, and the builds would be much better if there were something like the following attribute combination:

Major: Healing Power & Condition Damage
Minor: Toughness & Expertise

This attribute combo would allow for builds that can both heal and do a decent amount of condition damage, creating some well-balanced support roles in groups. Maybe Anet has already looked at this, and decided it would make an overpowered support role…not sure…but it sure would improve a few of the builds I’ve considered.

I’d definitely consider such stats for some of my toons.

Seraph was an interesting attempt, and I hope it’ll lead to more additions. And this one would be a real improvement.

I’d like Menders Stats from PvP to be in the game. Power, Healing Power, Precision, Vitality.

My rule of thumb is that if any set is considered balanced enough to exist in PvP then it should be in PvE as well. And if any PvP stat sets are kept out of PvE because Anet thinks they would be too powerful in PvE, then they are also too powerful for PvP and should be removed from it immediately.

So, like Sartharina said, I would like to see menders come to PvE, along with the rest of the PvP exclusive stats

I’ve never liked the idea that the only stat combinations available are the ones that ANet defines. Even worse is the waste of energy needed to keep track of all the different names by which a combination can appear (affected by rarity and gear type) and the huge variation in acquisition methods.

I’d prefer that we could mix any combination we like, by combining the relevant fine mats (or other ‘activators’). For example, current Soldier’s would use a combination of blood (for power), bone (for vitality), and scale (for toughness). The core game would allow (perhaps) all 3-stat combination that include the original fine mats as ‘activators’ (blood, scale, bone, etc). HoT would allow 4-stat combos.

IDK about that. I agree that an open system would be better, but at the same time I think that some stat combinations are just too good, they offer too much of offense and defense (dire and trailblazers ftw) simultaneously, and it would be significantly harder for Anet to block overpowered stats like those if anyone could craft any stat set they wanted by combining the right base ingredients. Plus, it would be a lot more confusing for new players as to why some combinations weren’t allowed.

I agree with you both. The thing is, for now, we’re stuck with prefixes, so we better get the best out of them !

By the way, there’re 2 prefixes that already exist in strange weapons, that I’d like to be spread wider :

  • Apostate : Condi Major + Toughness and Healing
  • Forsaken : Power Major + Toughness and Healing

Agreed with Illconceived Was Na.

I’d prefer the game to just do single stat on each piece so we could mix and adapt (up to a certain max limit per stat). Would also make it much easier to update and change gear, instead of looking at how 3-4 stats change changing one piece.

Make what you want to play with.
