First suggestion:

As we are all well aware zerk has been the meta for ages, leaving condi builds far behind. sinister was a good attempt to make condition builds more viable, however a lot of stuff still scales primary on power. Therefore I’d like to suggest a proper condition gear replacement for zerk:

Power (main), Precision, Condition damage. So simply convert ferocity 1 on 1 with condition damage.

Sure it ain’t much different from rampager at a first glimpse, but so is assassins compared to beserker. more then sinister it would allow condition builds to still pack the full raw damage zerker is so loved for.

Second suggestion:

I know it’s been mentioned before, but: Create some armor (legendary?) so people can chose their stats at will outside of combat.

For people that like to try several builds out and use a lot of variations like myself, ascended is so expensive that the options to use variations are limited without a noticeable difference by going 1 step back to exotic levels. If you want to compare builds and build effectiveness, you got to compare apples to apples afterall. Ascended jewelry are easy and cheap to get, while weapons are covered by legendaries with their selectable stats. I doubt many would mind a steep price for some kind of special armor that would give them the same creative freedom to explore every option possible for their class. In turn that would potentially lead to a lot more variation.

What kind of build would use power, precision, condition?

That was my question too..
Who want their critical damage only doing 50% more damage if their build is Power type.

What kind of build would use power, precision, condition?

Chance to [Condition] on crit builds?

Sarcasm, delivered with a
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

I run sinister on warrior, necro and ranger, I also tried it on mesmer and thief.

My general obeservations would be:

  1. condition weapons (condition heavy weapons) would provide significantly less DPS for the same amount of power compared to DPS weapons.
  2. condition builds genrally do not use power trait lines, But if they do they leach condition duration from this line which does have a very good synergy. Condition duration will be easily replacable with foods sigils or runes though.
  3. power condition hybrids synergize heavily with MIGHT. to such an extent you will be focussing a lot of your build to maximize might over power.
  4. the actual repayment of your investment in power comes from longer cooldown skills. which tend to be relatively expensive, in terms of time investment in combat.
  5. you will be focussing a lot on autoskills for decent stacking of conditions. as they stack bad with power…. well….

This would also mean SINISTER would be preferable over POWER, condition dmg and precision.

Suggestions for power condition hybrids:

S/S & LB warrior, instant allround build, with a huge amount of trait variation, Might from FGJ, signet of rage, firefield+ blast(bow/blast banner place/banner #5) (10-15 Self Stackable)

SB & A/? ranger (?= T or D) generally defaulting to a trapper/entangle build
Axe will allow a decent amount of might. (25 self stackable)

Staff & Sc/? necro, instant allround build, with a huge amount of trait variation
Might can be a problem (BiP?), but it will have good amounts of bleeds tormet, poison, vulnerability, wekness, terror? yes could be… and okay power with staff or a power based weapon. (axe MH or D/D can be very potent.)

Staff & Sc/? mesmer (?=T,P) this is a condition build, power just makes some hits not completely wet noodle. With sinister you can get 2400+ condition dmg and 1700 power, focus wil stay on conditions, else you would use GS and S/S and choose a power build. Might would be from interupts mostly conidtions can be spammed by clones. staff clones will have a bouncing attack..

Engineer will have lots of synergies, in flamethrower, grenade kit and the gass gun.
I do not play engineer atm however and though I tried it 2 yrs ago with a rampager set I wasn’t satisfied with the results, sinister is way more powerfull and I know the game a bit better now…

Elementalist is bound to burning in fire traits, and bleeding in earth. It would be a bad choiice however t o exc hange so much AOE power for a relatively small amount of bleeding stacks or some fire dmg….

Guardian procs burning every several atacks but IMHO it is pointless to provide them with extensive condition dmg as the other startts avaialable will benefit guardian more…

Builds would benefit from sigil of strength & bloodlust or corruption and runes of hoelbrak/strength ( or aristocrat.) not as mutch from bursting, force or condition applying sigils…

Lastly “proper condition stats based upon a power mainstat combo” seem strange…
You do not want a condi build but a power build with condition dmg as secondary…
Sinister can be quite OP to say the least, but only due to the fact all the condition build weapons scale of condition dmg, with only little respect for power… If you look at S/S for warrior only skills 2, 3 and 4.2 (Rip) scale well with power. auto ,burst (F1), skill 5 and skill 4.1 scale with condition dmg… you can do 30 bleeds if you want to, but you’d focus on final trust and rip? nah… don’t.
for longbow, well skill 1 scales bad, skill 2 will do good conidtion dmg, burst good condition dmg, skill 3 good power dmng, skill 4 good power dmg, skill 5 does very good condition dmg.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
