I have been thinking about a new type of Legendary that would be cool and you could earn without the use of RNG. You could have legendary weapons of slaying.

The way it could work is when you kill say 25000 creatures of a certain type (i.e. grawls) with one particular type of weapon (i.e. swords) you could then get a precursor “sword of grawl slaying”.

To do this you could take the weapon type to say a runesmith, who for say 100 gold would inscribe the weapon with a grawl slaying inscription giving a bonus 5% damage vs Grawls.

Now to turn it into a legendary you would have to jump through the normal hoops to create a legendary weapon of that type. Once you have all the mats you can then forge a named legendary weapon and you get to choose the name. So the weapon now becomes “Sting the Slayer of Grawls”.

This gives the weapon even more character because you had to kill all those grawls and you get to name it as well.

Any thoughts?

Why would any1 bother to kill 25000 boring mobs to make a sword that makes no difference in game at all…Legendaries are waste of time,they are ugly but cost you lots of invested time and money.With this you even made grinding for legendaries even more ridiculous.As for myself…im not selfish so i don’t care will they add this up or not,i would not use legendary even if someone pays me…but i just cant see a reason why would anyone bother lol.Legendaries are at same value as mini pets !Only difference in value is that players make it look worth of bothering,that and requirements to make it.

AT the end,you just get some super flashy weapon,that leaves ugly trail wherever you go, BUT does not even give better stats then weapon that you can buy for 4G.That slight difference in dmg is not important.There are also better skins in game then those that you get from “legendaries”.

All that would this make is another excuse for players who says that this game have “end game” and that we have lots of thing to do like for example – killing 25000 mobs to make some useless sword lol.

Some people have different tastes, and actually like the legendary skins. Also some people believe it or not do enjoy the grind. Sadly, I think that a mob grind for a legendary is completely mind numbing and shouldn’t be rewarded.

That’s not a terrible idea! I’m not sure 25,000 is a low enough number though. 250,000 I could imagine. Haha… that or set the value to multiply against the inflation.

neat idea…any way to introduce precs that isn’t rng is fine by me. new legendaries are also a desirable thing.

personally, i’d rather they just make precursors earned through processes like building mawdey.
