I recently started trying for a legendary (it’s like trying to make a baby, hah.). Everything seems possible and attainable, except for the precursor weapon. I can save money for it, but the prices seem to constantly rise. Throwing stuff in the Mystic Forge seems silly too, since the droprate is so low.

Why don’t we solve the precursor weapon some other way? a legendary shows that you’ve mastered all aspects of the game, except for, it seems, PVP. why not make the precursor attached to PVP? for example, getting to a certain ranks rewards you with a precursor of your choice. or you have to win 100 matches as a warrior to get 1/4 piece of the precursor for a greatsword, etc etc.

something that you can work towards, like the other parts! there is enough RNG included thanks to Mystic Clovers, IMHO.

There are a few other ideas, for example combining a few things in the mystic forge or giving more drops of precursors.

Precursor crafting has been announced and confirmed a long time ago. However, it has been pushed back and delayed so often that I have lost count of all the broken promises that were made. Maybe we will see it someday, but don’t get your hopes up.

Doesn’t NEED to be crafting, there are enough parts in it that need to be crafted. it would be nice if it was added to PVP, they could easily make it a reward track even.

I think that would cause the forums to erupt in flames. Lol.

Some people are unhappy with the PvP involved with WvW map completion associated with creating a Legendary, as it is.

I would hate what the reward track would look like. I actually think it does drop from PvP it has a chance to drop in a rank up chest I believe.

The idea is to do specific things to put them together and get the precursor. Similar to the way they did the black moa chick only likely much more difficult.

Also when talking about crafting it will likely be Mystic Forge crafting. But crafting components may be involved including some of the time gated ones.

As a side note they are working on it. We do not know the final form it will take however.
