I have some (you might think unnecessary and stupid) ideas.
I’ll try to keep it short
So I like how you Anet keeps pushing the engine to better qualities but what I really love to see happening is a toggle for “displacement maps” these are like bump maps but with greater depth and it polishes ugly corners or flat walls (like treelogs in the grove).
I mean we are nextgen gaming aren’t we? So I am really looking forward to see more engine and post proccesing effects (motionblur, better DoF)
I am using GemFx and can’t stand the original look of the engine :c
Okay so that’s of my mind. Now for a new mastery
“Advanced Movement”
NOW many will be against this, because it can ruin the gameplay and the feel of gw2 but I only think everyone likes to be a superhero.
It’s not a total revamp of gw2.. xD but alot of work on the maps would be nescesary to make this work. (not too mention gliding is in such early stages since the pvp maps and WvW maps aren’t even updated.)
-Longjump (Hold space and press WASD to long jump to that direction (not sure how much. (To be a jumpad or not to be, is my question)
Could also be mousclicked asif ur casting an AoE but I like the idea so you can glide after the jump. (Behold more challenging jump puzzles)
-Sprint (Hold shift to move faster at the cost of the energy intended for dodges)
Litterly as it says, Get that highspeed action a little more immersive with a small zoom in everytime you sprint, ofcourse skills have to be adjusted in delays and strikes (How about +66% speed?)
With these it would be fun if we could run on/jump on and off walls?

-Climb
Climb up flat walls and explore new!….unfinished instances and broken maps :D
but would be cool if we could climb.
You could make it like “Press F to climb” and you can only climb certain things with basic/medium/rare climbing tools (skins ofcourse everything)
Use of skills while gliding. I really want to storm into a target or mob and have casted my Meteorstorm and utility skills, or be able to teleport while gliding somewhere near to the ground.
This is how I see the future of gw2. Tyria is just one part of the world. many expansionsets will unlock the whole world. every single part filled with maps.
Jumping, Gliding, immersive action and totaly free willed controll over your player where you can test your puzzling abilities with find the right skill. OR just aim really carefully and make the “action” camera really something you need/prefer
Cons and pro’s
Pro’s: My imagination is infinite
Cons: leaving players, scaring players, not enough GPU to load the gw2 engine, let alone displacement maps.
I know it’s risky… So I’d like for you all to be as openminded ideas and start imagining a game created for and by the player too.
I havent searched indepth much but you can use this thread to suggest your own ideas
So all shorter than short:
My suggestions are:
-GFX related: Displacement maps /higher polycount/better smoothing for the environment
- Mastery: Advanced Movement
– Longjump + Glide
– Sprint
– Wall-jumping
– Wall-running
– Climb
– Fight while Gliding
-Mounts LOL (well concidering the sprint and the jumping around it would be acceptable…) And I do fight every single monster no matter what level or what it drops wherever I go because I care about playing the game. grinding ages to my obsession in the gemstores. whenever I want to fight a baby spider I fight it not because it drops anything, gives me bad xp or is a nuiscance to me, no. I AM A SUPERHERO. STOP RUINING THE FRIGGIN GAME WITH YOUR RUNNING THROUGH STUFF AND CRAP.
(Feel the sarcasm)
