[Suggestions]How do u imagine RingOfFire?
Actually i was also thining of the crystal desert..since there is a gate and the guard only tell me..its dangerous dont go!…but this actually make me wanna go there so badly. but..i will make a different post about that now im mainly trying to get ideas for the map design of the ring of fire maps
I’m looking forward to going back to the Ring of Fire Islands. It’s actually at my number one position; even above Cantha! RoF was a true end-game area. A very bleak, hot, place filled with tons of dangerous mobs, and a just really eerie place in general given the context of Prophecies.
It was literally a hellish place, and I’m eager for its return. Reason or no reason. In fact, I’d rather not have a reason! Just open it up with some Dynamic Events, Hydras, Ettins, and remnants of old Mursaat Jade constructs!
I’d be in Heaven. Just don’t forget the Mursaat/Jade hammer and longbow!
what also would be nice if there would be some cool and nice mini dungeons here and there. i reaally love them from the original game. some difficult but small area and in the end there is something waiting
but i would not just put a chest there..but maybe some new material?..or anything that really worth the headache
some thoughs from my guild:
- much more hostile than orr
- HARD open world stuff
- not just loong events but also small difficult and rewarding stuff.
- raid type map with epic bosses and semi fixed lootsystem
- only guild maps (like gw1 style) which can be choosed between easy, normal and hard.
-Maybe even progress with a weekly reset so it would be only for guild.
If the Exalted in HoT are really the Mursaat, then that might be precedent to return to the Ring of Fire. It would make a great new map for future Living Stories.
Maybe the Mursaat have repopulated it and the Door of Komalie will come back into play.
I could see it populated with evil Mursaat and constructs. If it was submerged during Orr’s rise, then there could be undead versions of the creatures that were living there. Well, the ones that were not already undead. If not, I don’t know why we wouldn’t have many of the same creatures there that populated it before.
unluckily im not so familiar with the lore of gw1 (except factions, nightfall and eye of the north)..but sounds cool so lets make this post great and full of ideas !
I can see it now, the entire zone has been conquered by nasty Quaggans. The horror!

This is not funny. Not even a little!
We already have enough of those little GW2 water ewoks running around as it is.
The only reason I could foresee that we would need to go back there is if we need to find a Seer.
Or if we need to get into the Realm of Torment for some reason, though I don’t know what we’d need to do there since all the demons are probably gone by now. Chat with some Forgotten maybe?
Fire isles are volcanic islands and it’s been years since they were last visited.
In addition the sea level dropped
So combining the new land mass created do to the lava flow and eruptions over the years plus the fact the ocean receded around Orr so why not there too.
So a landmass rivaling Ascalon in size and scope plus more green and life present than there used to be as while the landmass grows it’s not like new Volcano are growing to sprout out around the edges.
That said the landmass would no doubt be livable in this age so there would no doubt be numerous reasons to return they could even plug another consortium deal if they wanted.

You may read my first post in this topic.
That would require Joko to fight all through whomever is occupying the Realm of Torment (the Forgotten and maybe some leftover demons?). It would be fairly easy for them to get in the same way we got in, but how would they get out? If the Door of Komalie could be opened from the inside, why did they wait for us to open it before sending titans through the first time?
I’d like to think that i’d like it as a harder version of silverwastes (or verdant brink; probably a better example) but i think in reality, constantly failing bosses because the other players were badly under par wouldn’t make for such fun gameplay.
The door of Komalie was sealed in GW1, but that does not mean it is permanently sealed. There was a scene where the staff was recovered by the necromancer Livia. That leaves the possibility of someone opening it again, or even resurrecting the vizier at some point.
I think it burns burns burns
I imagine it as a Fire Field that lasts 5 seconds, applies 3 stacks of burning and deals some damage. 15 second CD

Yes but we went to the other side of that door, it’s the Foundry of Failed Creations and cleared that place of anything, so even if the Door of Komalie opens again, it leads to an empty place now. No reason keeping it locked anymore.

So you got e’m all? Every last one? YOU SURE YOU DIDN’T MISS SOME?
Come to think of it, Ring of Fire reminds me of sitting on the ‘Mystic Forge’ the day after after eating a hot curry….. Ouch, ouch, ow, ow, ow….. Someone bring the fire extinguisher….
