Guild Wars 2

So without knowing how any of it worked, I started a warrior and opened the box you get with the Heroic edition. I chose one of three armor sets without knowing what they were and got a set that I can’t use on my toon! It says ‘account bound’ so I figured, great, I’ll just role a different toon that can use it and mail it to them. When I try to drag the item into a slot in a compose mail to my other toon, it turns red and won’t let me attach.

WTF?

Is there a trick to mailing items? Is there some reason why I can’t send an account-bound item to another character?

use the bank, it’s account wide

You can not mail yourself, but as stated above, you can transfer items through your bank.
